Uh, and in an ultimate exercise of turnplayer's prerogative, I seem to have declared a draw without consulting Spaceman.

Haha, yeah quite some development all of a sudden in the tech thread.

I think for my sanity it's probably for the best, and anyway I was only involved in turnplaying for a dozen (?) turns.

Atacking with first green was a mistake , and i used cats just for cannons with drill on them, and cats do colateral damage to more units if cannons are not there .And realy i was prepared to retreat but after winning those 3 batles at 50% I felt invincible.

Some pragmatism - you're by far the scariest opponent. I think if we weren't in the game you would have won handily. As the game progressed you were also the scariest enemy civ in-game.

A bit of geopolitics. Yuri had the opportunity to screw up our micro plan early by making us build (gasp) a military unit, and he gave us 10t peace treaty so we didn't have to. Therefore we wanted to be friendly to Yuri, and tried to all game, and it's usually unwise to consider all your neighbors as friends - then you can't do anything when you get a new military tech. I prefer to have just one close friend. Since you were the other neighbor you were therefore not a close friend.

A bit of frustration, since you built the great lighthouse when we were about to build it. And later, even more because you stole our iron. Later still you were the only reason we had to defend against attackers; you whipped a lot of knights to threaten us with and forced a lot of retaliatory military emphasis. No one else did anything remotely annoying to us (mostly because they couldn't, mostly because they were too far behind). You were like the only other kid in our sandbox. Except for you we could do whatever we wanted, but you thwarted us so many times it became quite intimidating.

For most of the game you were the only neighbor we were willing to attack, and also the one person who if we defeated him the game would be all but won.

So that's why we treated you as an enemy. Didn't hate you though.

Yeah, Mackoti, I had nothing but respect and admiration for your play, and I feel no hostility towards you - I hope you feel the same. In fact, one of the downsides of playing with no diplo is that you can have little friendly banter to defuse a tense in-game situation.

Also at the end the no diplo rule was frustrating since it was hard to get out of the gruelling war in a mutually beneficial way, especially when the war was effectively a three-party war.
