WW26: The Masquerade [Game Thread]

Sorry about the last minute switch on the last day, I thought it'd be best to consolidate with the confirmed village in Will than risk the wolves making a last minute run on some other candidate for the win. Of course, we all know how that ended up...

Well played Serdoa and Rowain in particular, I never really had a scum read on either of you all game. And pindicator, wow. I wish I'd pushed harder to lynch you, but I couldn't convince myself that a wolf would play like that. I'm glad to find out that you weren't technically a wolf, but a traitor.

The people I had identified correctly (although I didn't really care about it so I have less than half assigned a real name.)

MJW: Lady Elizabeth: I would really like to see a game from you where you don't try to cheat-clear yourself with meta-tricks. It might still interest you that my vote for you was really for your "Lets claim all". I didn't even realise your werewolf-part until much later.

Jowy: Muriel the Slow :
Serdoa: Fat Rose

gotten wrong:
novice: Bert the Bard: I really though you are zak. Maybe your sameness shines through if you both play anonymous wink

Ichabod: Simple Anne: Interesting I had you as Gazglum. But talking about a wolf in the night and that as powerrole tsktsktsk wink.

Lewwyn: Rob the Filch: That is shocking. I had you as Ryan. You did lets say at least mispresent the facts (me ignoring multiple posts was plain wrong). And your fixation on Muriel is unusual for you especially with that high emotion.

Azza: Sir Percival. That is whom I thought to be Lewwyn. bow Well done bow and thanks for the switch smile

Other surprises:
Qgqqqqq: Agnes the Orphan: That is a surprise. And you played it well except you should have talked about your scan-results after N3.

Zak: Know-Nothing Jon: Since I had zak as Bert I couldn't really place Jon. Sometimes I thought him to be Selrahc

Pindicator: Doctor Saul. I had no name for Dr Saul but this shows that pindicator allowed to reach the endgame is bad for the village smile

I didn't get scan results, I was only 50% effective. I don't think that would be worth posting, I think it would just clutter the thread really.

Edit: Oh and thanks. smile
I think you played well, perhaps a bit too intense at Muriel (from a purely game-winning POV), but I understand that and it looked natural.

Thanks for the game everyone, a humbling lesson learned. Congrats to the remaining wolves who did all of the work.

Thanks for the game guys and thanks especially BRick for pulling through. I am sure it had to be a nerve-wracking and rather unpleasant experience for you. :/

A few points: Saul was a very strong role imo, but that the village did decide to keep him around after the mislynch on Kate AND didn't at least get to the conclusion he has to be a Possessed (I was pissed at myself for making it that obvious later) was what really made it strong. I think the changed post-style together with the absolute unhelpfulness towards the village should have been a sign. But of course I knew who was who so maybe it was more obvious to me that he was unhelpful. As for our fight on the last day: My sentence about it being Saturday was actually not meant as an insult, but as an explanation why I could not switch earlier and me having no understanding for you claiming that to be somehow a scum-sign.

Lewwyn, I'm sorry if you hated me this game or had the feeling I was cruel, but I was honestly pissed at you for asking for a replacement as for us it looked like you try to meta-clear yourself. Also I didn't know it was you.

Azarius: Nice first game. I think you did well, with maybe a too low post-count at the end, but I was honestly surprised at all the suspicion you got.

Waterbat, I thought you were Ichabod. Ichabod always sniffs me out, so when you started with going for me already on D1 I had to ask to kill you.

Going to read the lurker-thread and traitor-thread now.

Ah I now reread your role-pm and see what you mean. So yeah hard to say what is the right course with that role.

so pindicator was a villager, not a wolf?

I think that means there were 3 scum and 5 villagers after the harry mislynch, and the game should have continued. possessed win as scum, but count as villagers for the win condition. oh well.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

They were planning to announce in-thread, which gives them a voting block sufficient to control the village and possibly (I can't remember influence) would be enough to just straight win.

it would have gone: NK Will => 3 wolfs + 1 possessed + 3 villagers.
Wolfs tell Saul they know his role (which we did since N2) and Saul knew who the wolves were (well me and Rose) and to vote with us. => 4 scum aligned vs 3 villagers => no chance for village to win
