Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[Spoilers] Bacchus debuts on RB showing unmatched vision and slick dice-rolling

Yeah--that's when we attack anyway and win the ~20% flip tongue
You'll know when they research their first tech if they did go for bronze working, right? If they didn't, does it become worth it then? Or would it mess with our opening too much?

If they don't pick up a tech this coming turn, they are going BW.

Another issue is that retep like as not will build a warrior naturally at some point, probably around T20-25, and we can now only attack the capital on T24, so I'd say the window for cheese is closed. He could be going worker/chop settler, though, which makes a lot of sense with a cow, perhaps even more than growing to 2.

I'll think about it.

Hmm, in the worst case we'll get to pillage the cow. And later our warrior can hang around to block his copper or something. Screw it, let's play some fucking Civ.

Basically, everything gets delayed 3 turns. Scout completes T13, Warrior on T16 and we get 8 food in the bin. Worker will come out on T23, wheat will be improved T27 and chop comes in T31, 42 hammers into the settler on turns T23-26, 50h more over T27-31 + 20h from the chop, T32 Settler comes out (revolt) and settles on T34, T33 16 overflow taken into a worker (26 total), T34-35 we part-build a warrior and grow to 3, T36 whip worker, he can start chopping in the second city on T39. Bottom line, second city is delayed a couple of turns, but still comes in a reasonable time, third city settled on T45 and third worker is only delayed a turn to T41. And having a warrior over at Khmer greatly increases our option, so totally worth it. Or is it?

Why would they build a warrior normally at some point--we certainly weren't wink
When do barbs start entering our borders? It's two cities and turn something, right?

We are going to build a 15h unit in any case, it's just that it's a scout rather than a Warrior. You also normally need a Warrior for escort, we don't need one because of how the dotmap lies and because we are Cre, it lets us move and settle without danger.

At Numcities > 2*NumPlayers barbs will enter if they have a target immediately within borders, at NumCities > 3*NumPlayers barbs will basically enter whatever. Because we are Cre, and because of the way our resources are located we don't have to worry about barbs anywhere except for the gems site until the second threshold.

It's a scary thought that before T50 there will likely be 54 cities on the map.

I'm pretty sure there is a mistake in espionage, Poison Water mission now costs 2496 points, 10 times more than forment unhappiness.

Scout went to the coast and found nothing much interesting. The continent narrows a bit, and the remaining tiles will be revealed with a culture pop in 14 turns. I'm mulling over the possibility of bringing him back east, to find the other neighbour, and take another peep into the Khmer capital on the way.

There is a potential land bridge to somewhere, or hopefully and island. Doesn't really matter for now, so I don't feel like exploring. On the other hand, there could be a hut. Thoughts, CH?

Warrior decision to be taken next turn.

Retep moved his scout to the forest 1W of the corn in the picture above, instead of trying to defog the cap tile from the corner. I don't even know what to wish for at this point, the damage to us is done, so I would probably prefer for him to scout away in our lands, rather than uncover where his other neighbour might be. Or maybe he will build an extra scout like us for the other direction.

EDIT: Just Jester and Ichabod to move, so maybe we'll get a new turn this evening.

We don't need to explore west of the city yet--when the borders expand in a couple turns, we'll be able to see if further exploration is necessary, and we have the second scout in the area as well. Exploring east seems more important, considering we want to find more neighbors to make our techs cheaper smile
