DRAFT to Maya

Quote:Hey Kittens,

We wanted to send you a brief note to keep in touch. These kind of "inter-team" messages are crucial, especially as we move towards what I believe is our common goal of imploding the current MEGA-alliances into something a bit more manageable.

So while I was thinking about this in the shower this morning (I know, I'm a loser), I realized that if we're going to do this, we want to make sure that you use whatever influence you have in PAT to ensure that the "techers" are the civs that are most conducive to such a switch. One of the problems that we are having, since for whatever reasons, justified or not, some of "our" group have some techs (Construction, for instance) and some don't. So we have to either leave our teammates behind, or fill in the gaps.

That's going to be a big problem if/when we flip things up again. For example, you guys are researching Machinery, right? So, if you leave PAT, then I believe that you still have to give it to all of PAT, per the terms of the Treaty of Heliopolis, ratified in blood in the year Anno Domini whatever, but you're also free to give it to us or whoever else you end up with. If you were a funder to say, England for researching Machinery, then you would have no control over who else got Machinery.

So we want to make sure that the techers are (as much as possible) civs that are going to want to work with us. In fact, if you could get us a list of who in PAT was researching what, and who would be likely to be on your and our side, we could direct our research appropriately. But I understand if you woudln't want to do that. I'm thinking that we aim for bolting after the next round of techs. I.e. after Machinery / that round of techs, but if you've got other plans let us know and....

PARTY ON!

Okay here's a shot at a dotmap for our western border. As part of our NAP with Rome, we are allowed 1 "ring" west of the ex-Sumerian capital (now named Mechanical Bull)

I think these are pretty good spots. Red has 6 FPs, horse, plains cows and jungle gems

Blue is also on the river, grass marble, iron, and hopefully a food bonus somewhere. Obviously we could move it up 1N for 2 grasslands and a plains hill, depending on what's in the fog.

Thoughts on this? If we wanted to, we might be able to move red 1N, blue 1N and maybe fit in a 3rd city to the S or SE of blue dot?

If you guys like it, I'll propose this to Rome and also coordinate with Portugal to make sure they're not going anywhere near blue dot.

And while I'm giving some lurker candy, here's an empire overview shot

Our 6 cities in the red dots. The 2 blue dots in the west are the same ones from the earlier pic. Eastern blue dot is the copper city that is a replant of T-shirt contest that got razed by Maya.

SW green borders is a Portugal city. We probably want a city to its north near the incense and spice, right? Hopefully with a food in the fog.

Eastern green borders is a Ruff / Aztec city. It actually might be 1 more tile east. We also probably need to figure out a border agreement with him.

We've got room for at least 5-6 more cities in our north that have some good flood plains.

Man I'm just going all out tonight!!!

Here's the south. Egypt's borders of course, and yet another green is the Ottomans this time.

I'd think there's no point in negotiating a border agreement with Krill - he probably wouldn't bother. I say we just head south with as much as we can take by force.

Obviously a 3rd capital (Korea's) would be an attractive site. Or 10S1E on a plains hill, with sheep and fur

We may want to talk this over with the Ottomans and get their opinions on how they see this region

I also requested CoL from HRE as everyone on PAT seems to have it now. Courthouse in MB? It's costing us 10 gpt

Oh I decided it was probably safe to take down the sign of a lion that was spotted 40+ turns ago lol

Oh and PS - that's 10 posts in a row for me. Take that, darrell!

#11 - ambushed by Portugal and Ottomans in chat.

Started talking about border agreements with both of them. I didn't really get very far but we're on the same page.

Ottomans agreed no 'pink dot' settlements on the site of Seoul, and I told Muhka I'd catch him tomorrow.

Out of Portugal ideally I think we'd want that spice / incense site and make sure they're okay with Blue Dot near Rome ,as well as pump them for more map info in that region. Also want to see what they're doing to our south

Get this - with the axe I killed this turn (you guys made me scared with all of this luck talk and I took the 99% instead of working towards a third promo with the 95%) and the one I'll kill next turn, we may be bard free soon. Therefore I'm sure like 5 barb spears will spawn out of the fog IT smile
