Two things that are causes for alarm:
Kylearan is expanding . . . Looks like two cities, and my Axeman is spotted. Retreated 1 N, but if I had listened to my instincts and moved him last turn, he wouldn't have been spotted. Promoted Woodsman I, but I don't think that will help much.
I feel like I need to be quicker to grab the Gold site, but I don't have the troops to defend it at the moment, and the Luxury site is still better short-term, so . . . yeah.
Here's how things stand. I have my squad of troops ready to defend Rapture. Gotta double check when to Whip Settlers. Guess I can get 2 more Workers out?

OK, looks like a couple pictures didn't take. Anyway. Big news is that the War Chariot is moving north. Maybe it'll attack my axe? Dunno. About even odds, so I wouldn't expect Cyneheard to take 'em. Could be troublesome depending how far north he goes, though.
Shangri-La got whipped. What with all the reloads I had to do, due to the demo-freeze bug, I forgot to queue it up, but I'm gonna get a Spearman out for defense before I start the Worker (and to regrow, of course)
Overview:
I'll try to have a more comprehensive report next turn.

Whosit Wrote: I don't know why I find this so funny. I dunno. "Player Zero, the legendary Player." Heh heh.
Anyway, it's Krill. How did you come to this conclusion?
Is he first to act in the turn or something?
Whosit Wrote:Yes. Just look at the screen shot in my last post. Krill is player 0. On the PBEM Tracker, he's listed as player 1. That is the turn order. Or, rather, order of initiative. In-game, I am #3, which means that I am 4th in order.
Gotcha thanks

OK, so I did get a turn in a couple of days ago, so it's about time I wrote about it (not that much of interest happened).
Someone founded Christianity. I am betting it was whoever got the Prophet (possibly Cyneheard?). Of course, if it was Cyneheard, the Great Prophet would probably have been born in his capital (Oracle, Obelisk Priests), so I would have known. So not sure.
Also, my Axeman was destroyed by the War Chariot, although it put up a good fight (I think I knocked the Chariot down to about 1/4 health), so I shouldn't have to worry about it harassing my Settler and escorts immediately, though I am going to stock up on more Spearmen for the southern front.
Had to get re-acquainted with my cities:
The capital is still working off whip anger by building the Settler. Going to Paradise for the luxury items. Will need a Worker or two after this. Might whip Worker #1 into Worker #2. With a couple of Workers from Shangri-La, that will bring me to 10 Workers total for 5 cities, which is pretty good.
Speaking of. A second Worker will follow this one as whip anger wears off. I will, of course, whip out a Spearman if a War Chariot appears. I have enough visibility that I should have enough warning. Oh, I did change the tile allocation since I took the shot; I'm working the plains hill instead of the rice because I get an extra hammer out of it. Doesn't change much, but no reason not to optimize the builds, right?
I'm not sure if I want to whip the monument here or not. I really want to get the culture going for the visibility + cultural defense bonuses. As you will see, I expect to be butting heads with Kylearan pretty soon.
No demos, of course, because of the F9 bug. Well, I'm still last in score, so that probably tells me enough. Not enough land, not enough population, and no Wonders makes a Whosit sad.
Kylearan's two cities to the east. I never expected to get that territory, but I had better settle my gold-grab site soon, lest I lose it and become really pressed-in. What sucks is that there's really not much else worth settling for me. The North of this strip is pretty barren.
2 Axemen and 2 Spearmen to defend my Settler and soon-to-be-city. Should suffice for this point in the game. I'm starting to feel that it's rather doubtful that I'll make it to the mountains first, but it could be the recent huge delays in the pace of the game that are making me feel sluggish.
Guess I'll want Fishing, maybe Sailing, after Monarchy so I can get a Work Boat for the Clams and build some Work Boats to scout the coasts out.

I guess I never posted anything (slow pace is getting to me, sadly), on the last turn, an Egyptian War Chariot appeared on the hill south of my escort stack. Not the same one that killed my Axeman down south, mind you. I killed it with a spear, but now my escort stack has been spotted. Wonder how Cyneheard will interpret that, because the Settler was not in visual range at the time. I need more spears, clearly, because a lot of those War Chariots could be wandering around.

Finally got to play the next turn. Updates will be pictureless for a little while, I'm afraid, since my PC is still dead, as far as I know. Gonna hafta call customer service to see how much they will charge me for replacement parts. Might have to replace the screen, and I doubt that is cheap. *grumble grumble*
Anyway, relatively mild turn. No sign of any enemies. Revolted to HR, so that will help with the happy a little bit. Most cities only have one soldier defending them, but that should change soon. Founded Paradise, and will start hooking up the Silver next turn.
Still dead last in score. With no demos, I can only assume that I'm doing pretty poorly in the other categoriesl. I'm honestly a little perplexed. I know that I'm not playing an A game, but I thought that I was doing a little better than this. Then again, I know I must be expanding slowly. Oh. And my commercial base sucks. Yeah. Hopefully that's going to change, soon.

Yow, haven't updated much, but then again, without regular access to a PC, hard to play often.
Cyneheard revolted to Theocracy, Bureaucracy, and Hereditary Rule. I think that I'm really, really far behind. I think, perhaps, I was not really meant for the Vets game. Kylearan has also pushed further west faster than I thought, and I'm sure I can never make it to the southern mountains first.
I can tech Math in 4 turns, but I need to save up cash. I'm not as good at judging tech times on Quick, but I guess I must be going really slowly. I thought I was playing an OK game, but perhaps I was expanding too slowly? Not enough commerce focus? Probably not. Well, I'm just not really sure what to do, now.
No pictures, sorry, can't take them right now.
I'm thinking of making a strike at Kylearan's newest city, but it's on a hill with an Axe, Spear, and Chariot. If I had 4 Axemen, I could probably take it down, but by the time I build 3 more Axemen, he'll probably have reinforced the city. How sad for me.

Quick speed reduces most things to 2/3 of their values on normal speed. So 4 turns for Math would be about 6 on normal speed, and you're currently somewhere on the equivalent of turn 80-90 if this were a regular speed game.
It's not quite exact, but close enough.

Whosit's thread all the way at the bottom of the PBEM4 thread due to lack of updates?
That's unpossible!
