Well T3 didn't attack this turn, it may be too late.

Well I don't think its too late yet, but I was sure they would attack once they saw we'd switched out of slavery into caste.

Short update since only a couple things happened.

T1 razed Not the Alamo and moved the rest of the army forward into my culture.

At this point even with RRs there is now no way their army can double back to reach Milkshake. T1 and T4 are out of the running to stop us.

T3 moved a Machine Gunner onto the hill in front of their city where I put the worker. Basically this tells me that they don't want me spying on the stack. SInce the stack would have to move at least 2 tiles into my territory to attack anything, I think this means they don't want me to see their defense or possibly a new type of unit that they are building? Tanks mayhap? In any case it makes me feel like they AREN"T invading in the next two turns. And if they don't invade in 2 turns we auto win. If they do, they still have to fight through 200+ units to raze a culture city.

The other significant thing this turn:

Hi Ludwig, thanks for joining us. That's 3 GAs in Beijing and 3 in Milkshake. 4 currently in Istanbul and another pops in 3T there. Also Beijing will pop another GA in 3T maybe 4. I might be able to shave a turn by sending ludwig to Milkshake and using the Artist that will pop in Beijing as the 3rd artist. I'll have to calculate it to be sure that's true. In any case, we've gotten our requisite GA popped outside of Ottoman lands.

So I wonder if T3 will invade, or wait for tanks.

Couldn't sleep, did some work on the micro. I can micro everything so that we go legendary after hitting enter 6 more turns. This will require popping another Artist in Beijing, running one of the others to Milkshake, turning Milkshakes culture slider down for gpt, sending the gpt back to china and running 100% culture in China while working tiles at size 14. China wouldn't make enough culture in 6 turns otherwise because the starving artists will be producing a decreasing amount of CPT.

So... if T3 attacks this turn, we will need to survive 2 turns of attacks on Beijing or wipe their army to the point where they can't take the city in 2ts. Since we'll have 200+ units in Beijing we could just sit there as long as T3 doesn't have more than 100 units that can actually kill units. Last I saw they had 60ish. So they need to have added 40 units that aren't siege or Machine guns in the last couple turns. And if they don't attack this turn I don't think they can actually do it.

So Cyne asked me about the micro numbers for the culture and well its a bit messy because I honestly have no idea about the amount of culture I'll be able to squeeze out of Beijing in the last few turns. It's gonna be close. Especially since T3 has now invaded:

That actually might be okay.

12 Machine Guns
44 Cannon
41 Rifles
39 Musketmen/teers
9 Knight
6 LB
5 Pike
2 praets
2 Maces
1 HA
6 cats

That is 105 units that can kill.

China:

153 units (once I move some archers into Beijing as well) + about 15 more produced before T3 reaches + 66 from Wonderland = ~235 units in Beijing. it will take at the least 3 turns for T3 to break through. So if I can get the cities to leg in 6T we win.

There is also the possibility of attacking this stack when it reaches flat ground. In 5 turns this army will reach outside of Beijing. At that point I will know if I can reach the culture need in time. If I cannot, I will attack out and we'll see how good the CKN really are. All told though they have 167 units 12 of which are Machine Guns. I would rather not have to see how my army would fare. Let's talk about the culture.

Istanbul is the easiest here. I went over the scenario with it earlier in the thread in a post 2 days ago. Nothings changed on that front; it will be ready.

Milkshake:

This is the current shape. The culture slider is set to 100%. I will be giving this city 4 GAs at 2680 culture a pop. This means 10720 culture. I only need this city to reach 14280 culture by T191. I currently have 13348 so I need 932 culture. When I set the culture slider to 0% Milkshake produces 440cpt. By EOT188 this city will be ready.

Beijing:

This is going to be the hard one. I will pop a GA from this city in 4 turns. This will require starving 3 more citizens and then finishing the Artist off with a minimum of artists while working towns.

To reach 25000 I will use 3 GAs for 8040. This means I need to reach 16960 culture by T191. I have 13747 culture. I need to get 3213 culture. That is an average of 535 cpt. If I were to simply leave the city starve out with a low slider we would not make it as we would lose 25cpt per starved artist. So I need to siphon money from Wonderland and ASM to support running a 100% slider from next turn to the end. I checked and with 100% slider I'm making 635cpt next turn (T186), the turn after 610 (T187), the next 585 (T188). That's 1830 of 3213 and means I need to get 1383 in the next 3 turns. That's an average of 461cpt.

Now this is the turn I drop out of the golden age, but I haven't been using the tiles to support this culture so it wouldn't affect the amount of culture I would produce if I kept starving artists. So the next 3 turns actually I could be looking at 560, 535, 510. This is of course only if I can support 100% culture slider. But. Yeah. Now that I've worked it out... I think I will safely go Legendary at the EOT191. Then T3 will have their last shot, but of course they don't have enough kill units. When the turn rolls to T192, we win.

So T3 can't stop us. T4 can't stop us. T1? T1 needs to move more than 50 units that can kill into my territory next turn south of Milkshake to be able to stop us. So that's it, that's your final possibility. In the end, it's still up to T1. Too bad the bulk of their army is sacking my cities 15 tiles away through my culture. Maybe if they spawned enough tanks and 2 moved? They'd need bare minimum of 15 tanks to enter south of milkshake in the next two turns and without siege they'd have a rough time against the city's 105% culture defense. I don't see it, but I'm not giving the all clear till its all clear.

The waiting is killing me.

Well you might not need to plan an extra turn if they kill macau. They already lost a turn since they need to take an extra E/W move.

They don't need to. They can follow the hills diagonally all the way to Beijing. And they won't even need to stop for Macau as I'll need all those units up in Beijing in one big stack so I have to abandon it.

I was a bit worried at this one mostly because with China popping GPs the cost of GPs here will go up and I don't think Istanbul will get to 6 GAs before 8 turns, so we need to maintain a high CPT here as well. The issue is that the CPT decreases with each passing turn by about 21 cpt. So actually this becomes slightly dangerous. But I believe the math works out that Istanbul will reach 11,600 culture in 8 turns

11600-9193 = 2407

479+458+437+416+395+374 = 2559 +353+332 = 3244

SO it'll reach it in 6 turns, and in 8 will be well over. No sweat.
