Is that actually true, or just a hypothetical possibility?

I think it's kosher for lurkers to get around bugs, if it's actually a bug.

It's true by his report.

That makes more sense than what I'd considered.

Well, in that case reoffering peace seems like a reasonable thing to do. No profit in warring just yet. Adrien, any opinion?

Hmm, and he's double-moving us at the moment. True, I logged in first, but I certainly didn't play the turn yet.

Well, he moved in a very nonthreatening way, so I'm not terribly upset. Reoffered peace, will wait to see if he accepts.

He does have a third city now. We're finishing up our settler for our fourth at EOT, so we're still ahead there.

I'm logging in right now to look at the game, but don't expect any insightful comment.

Edit : the game wanted me to chose something for Steg so I chose a granary but I suppose you had a plan so don't forget to change it. I also didn't move anything else (except for mine instead of silk in tri, it seems that you let the city work the silk last turn costing us a hammer). Beyond that we have to be careful with Fenn, he has the henge so he'll beat us in culture wars.

Granary is good. I was going to give that mine to the capital since the barbs are tearing up all its original improvements.

Dang it, so close cry

I'm inclined to just head straight for currency now. We can live without borders since we claimed another copper. Hopefully/maybe Confucianism will be ours.

We are at least the first on our continent to four cities - and one turn away from five cities jive. Might very well have the fifth city down before Fenn/Jowy have their fourth.

That barb has now wiped out two of our capital's improvements...he tempts me to try a quick archery, even though I know we can have an axe in ~5 turns and also barbs have hardly anywhere left to spawn. At least he didn't slow down the settler to the fifth city.

I think we need another worker or two before I push out settlers for the south border.

Good news and bad news.

Good news: We're to five cities while Jowy and Fenn are both still at three!

Bad news: Jowy, Agg with a probable barracks in Rivia, thinks I'm bluffing and don't actually have my city covered. Possibly related to the time he was able to kill an unguarded settler of mine mischief

I withdrew the worker from the copper hill, left our warrior to collect a little more fortification bonus, and am walking another warrior to the front. Jowy won't even have odds on the first warrior, and we'll have two warriors to his one.

But...he might not know that. Or he might just be focused on delaying our copper hookup.

So what do we do from here? Partly it depends on whether Jowy actually attacks (and whether he reinforces). But I'm strongly tempted to go ahead and research Archery. We're still saving gold, but could get to Archery in three turns total. We can still hook up our backlines copper, given time to get a monument or barracks, border pop, and workers...or we can just push forward an archer to the hill and mine under that cover.

Jowy's got copper in his capital's third ring IIRC, so we might need that extra speed. Especially if he's thinking aggressively. Plus, archers would be a good supplement to defend our cities and resources - cheap but would get decent odds against even Agg axes.

Longer term? Well, if he didn't have copper at all, I'd be tempted to try our luck with an axe or two. But as it is, I suspect he can get a defense up before we can accomplish anything notable - so instead I want to stick with defense. Get some culture going in the border cities, keep a suitable garrison on hand (and some whipable pop), and focus on keeping the REX going.

For our culture, I'm torn. We probably shouldn't wait on religion for the border cities. That means some building. Monuments are cheapest, barracks have that nice advantage of catching up a bit to Jowy, or libraries are good long term. I don't think culture is more important than border granaries - whippable pop is a great defense - but it should probably come immediately afterward. I guess at the moment I'm thinking monuments for the border cities, because we need culture ASAP. But there's time to think yet.
