That Settler should settle 2E of the Spices (grabs Sheep (x2), Spices, Iron). Portugal is settilng 2W of the Wheat.

Moved a few workers. I turned down selling our map for 50 gold from bobchillingworth because I didn't know if we'd agreed it.

Sunrise - do you still need all of those workers in the south?

Also, I'd like to start 1 or maybe 2 new settlers next turn. I think we should settle "sunrise's spot" which is now revealed to have cows and also "NW border city" for which I'm building a 1t longbow for defence out of HE city. Did someone mention we could get a source of gold? One of our cities is unhappy.

Ok, a big detailed post for me (!)

Metagame

1) Krill is super-paranoid. In the last 48 hours he's asked each member of our team about a HA strike at least once, and logged in today the moment after I did. I think I will keep logging in really late in the turn to freak him out wink

2) Talked to BobChillingsworth of Byzantium and he advised me to email all of CUDDLE to discuss military strikes by Byzantium, HRE, Aztecs, and Ottomans. I think I will email everyone asking who wants to sign on board for a strike (and hope peer pressure makes most people sign up) and then ask them to agree on a turn to be ready (like in the center of their land). That way we can then figure out a target and path to get there. The goal is for people to understand the effectiveness of slaving/emphasizing units is maximized if allies do it at the same time.

Strategy

1) Ilios of HRE landed the Parthenon.

2) Ottomans got a GScientist.

2) We got Guilds from Byzantium.

3) I've not settled our southern city yet, but will do so next turn when the Mace arrives. Sooooo tells me he will make a settler for "sunrise's spot" in the north.

Tactics

1) Borders with Aztecs, Portugal, Byzantium, and Mayans are getting filled in. Diplo team - do we have good NAPs with all of the above? If so I propose the following unit plan:

Yellow circles are sentry units (7), Red+Blue circle blobs are where our stacks should do. I'm thinking a split of around 40% south, 40% northwest, 20% northeast. Yellow cities are planned, red cities are border cities, blue cities are core protected cities. Note all of the "R" tiles as well - we need roads there.

2) Soooo - as unit builds finish we want to maximize Knights and Cats, with maybe some Maces as well. 5:2:1 is probably a good mix, since without elephants knights also defend fine - we have stables and the Cataphracts are on our side wink
