I know you have to close the demos screen then change the slider then reopen to see a change, but I haven't had to pick a new tech before when I took screens at 0% and 100%, nor did I have to just now.
Yes demos screen lifts data and sticks with it, changing slider/tech whilst open nil effect. Then also no pre req bonuses on myst so going up on sci no effect from that.

I know that, but what GJ said sounds as though one also has to change the tech after closing the demos screen to see a change, which is not something I have had to do. Just changing the slider then re-opening the demos (on the same tech) makes a change.

I guess I hadn't realised that the pre-req bonus had quite so large an effect on GDP. Does the bonus from known civs with the tech also effect GDP?

Yeah, any change (slider, choice of tech, switching tiles in cities, killing units, etc) will instantly update the demographics numbers. However, these numbers are only calculated when the demo screen is open.
And yes, the KTB (known tech bonus) will be calculated into the demos - this is a way you can find out how many civs have a certain tech before Paper. However, note that until someone you know (or yourself) has entered the classical age, the KTB is 0% per civ, in RtR mod.

Ah-ha, I had wondered if that was something that had changed in RTR mod, but hadn't checked yet. Thanks.

Two things to talk about today: First is this:
I don't think this power drop is from whipping, it seems like too large a drop for that, since civstats hasn't shown him whipping multiple times in a turn. His latest whip was for a spear in Ecbatana, which is understandable since he knows I have 6 chariots hanging around there. So, although I can't be sure, I think that this means that he's fighting elsewhere, possibly with Adrien? In any case, it reinforces my belief that he's not interested in attacking me right now.
Second thing:
Going to whip this for two pop next turn. I spent a while debating between whipping this turn (it's on exactly 50/100 hammers), or next turn, whether the overflow was worth having it out a turn later, but as it happens, it wouldn't be a turn later, because of my road building schedule (if I whip this turn it will take 4 turns before it's founded, if I whip next turn it will take 3 turns to get founded.) So I decided to whip next turn, and put the overflow into a worker, which completes in 2 turns. After that, it will work on a library for a few turns, then back to another worker until the whip unhappiness wears off.

Quick question:
How does the ratio of EPs effect the requirement for stuff like seeing graphs or research? Is the amount that I need to see a neighbor's graphs the same as what that neighbor needs to see mine, regardless of who has more EPs invested in the other?

Met Adrien/Mardoc, just across the water from me.

But still not Gawdzak's other neighbor. So no idea anymore who that is, but I hopefully will find out with this chariot:

Also wondering where all of Gawdzak's other cities are.
This is what my galley has revealed so far:

Now I have to dotmap this. I'm thinking that Once You Had Gold will go 1 or 2 tiles to the south, then I can put a city on the PH on pigs island, and another on the hill in the middle of the northern island. That last one would be a good Moai spot, it even has a couple of forests to help chop it out.
Down by Ecbatana:

Orinoco Flow whipped that barracks to completion, and will start on a granary next. Gawdzak is making sure I don't see what that worker is doing, but since it didn't move 1W this turn I'm assuming that it's there to mine, instead of building a road out west to settle. I am 2 turns away from settling Pax Deorum myself, and since there's no way that Gawdzak could get a settler up near there before I found it, I decided to offer peace. Keeping that army in his territory is getting expensive (6g/t atm).
However, I did note that he is going for maths right now (followed by construction?), so I'm thinking that getting HBR sooner rather than later is a good idea. Still going to go for Judaism, but not any further than that on the religious tech path.

The better the EP ratio is in your favour, the cheaper all missions are.

The usual rule that you can't settle inside another cities BFC does not apply to cities on different landmasses btw. It is possible to settle cities SE and SW of that fish.

Is there a formula for that? I want to know how many EP's Gawdzak needs to put in me to see my research.

I know, but that would end up being a little too crowded for my taste, and by moving OYHG down I get that hill 1S of the cows into workable range.
