For the record, I've really enjoyed your reporting, both in this thread and in the other 4? pitbosses you are involved in. I think your reports have really come up in quality lately, especially when you talk about the reasoning behind your moves (the more detail the better, I feel), or in posts like the above. 

And you always do a great job continuing to check in, even during a game like this when you've been out of the running for a while and have a bunch of other games demanding your time. I think that's worth pointing out and appreciating.

Yeah, entire world at peace and Magic didnt take a double turn. 1T a day with 5 players. I think pb46 has had a better turn pace and that is saying something.



Goal is to be a real pain to kill off. My capital island can only be boated, so it will be STUFFED with high promo archers if i can help it. Im finishing MC soon, which will allow me to build triremes and make it slightly harder to kill off my other island. Im hoping the game is called before im eliminated as id like to keep a streak going where i dont die in these pitbosses.

I wish i had a full empire again. Id probably at this point declare on Magic science after he played his 5hr turn without playing a 2nd turn after. Just to force him to play "1st" in turn order. Why am i rather peeved?


He made peace with GKC/Boak 2-3 turns ago.

The ONLY possible "legal" situation has to be.... what? Afraid that Mr.Cairo will declare on him? I feel strongly that this game should just be called, if nothing else than for what im viewing as turn timer manipulation. Ill stop complaining at this point, but being that this has gone on the entire game. ( MAYBE not the first 20t? Wait let me check. ) From what i can see its about a 50/50 shot if he did or didnt roll the turn AND play the next turn at the same time for the first 100t. The fact that PBSPY doesn't show the TIME that these older turns took place is really pissing me off. Im going to basically stop reporting on this game from here out because frankly, 1T per day with 5 people is all the reporting required for this pitboss.

To GKC/Mr.Cairo, I think you guys have played an excellent game. Keep up the great work in the future.

It was a jolly good time being at war with you. I give the Samurai rush a BTS Rome out of 10. While i got some lucky rolls, that initial HA army of mine being destroyed with very little damage done was shitty. If that army had won, there wouldn't have been a need for any future luck. Hope to see you on the battlefield in the peace summit in future games!

I'll just say that I wouldn't be able nor willing to play more than one 1h+ turn per day, much less expect anybody to do so. Timer games are stupid of course (of he did that, haven't looked at it)

It honestly shouldn't be taking 1hr+ per turn for him at this stage. This isnt a 40-50city island empire with potential war on 5 sides.. But ill let it be. So long as he is using his long turns to potentially win the game, ill lay off of him

Still feels a bit shitty to not roll turns when able though. :P

I have to say that I preferred to take a gap between turns back in PB40 once the easy early turns were over. Partly it was to force myself to always think things through and absorb new info, but I was always paranoid about ending up with a turn that mattered outside my natural playing window (early evening local time). I wasn't in a position to play with anything like as much concentration first thing in the morning, or later at night, and had no access to the game (or even the forums - game related sites tend to get blocked by a lot of employers) during the day. I did also have the excuse (?) of wanting to discuss moves with a teammate that perhaps doesn't apply here.


Doesn't mean it's not frustrating, but there may be reasons other than just angling for parts of the timer. So long as it works out (mostly) as 1t per day ...

And, of course, there was that one time I _did_ play two turns in a row, accidentally double-moved another player in a settler race and further wrecked their game. MS may prefer a PBEM style rota now.

All fair. Seems he is doing a bit better at it now. I wont delete my old posts, but it was a bit frustrating. I can see the point on taking a gap between doing both turns, just sucked that MS basically can only play at the very end of the turn timer. ( 2-5hr turns as well.. /shrug ) No real harm, no foul as i dont care too much about this PB anymore. Id set this to AI except i want to make a possible death painful. Heh.

Opened the turn to being at war/peace treaty with Japan. Scrolled around to see if it was just to keep the peace going.... ANDDDDDD i had another HA to the north of this diplo window. Exited out to see what my odds were because OF COURSE he was able to move a samurai to protect the spear  ( not idea where it came from... does he have engineering??? ) And they were 10% more or less to kill the Samurai. Was hoping when i had moved the other HA that if it was attacked ( was hoping to get Alphabet and get open borders then just explore till i died ) that i could clean up the spear with my c2Shock HA. Sigh. This damn game man.

I offered peace again in exchange for 10 gold of Japan's. I think thats more than fair. If he declines, i use all my remaining happy on whipping a fleet of Triremes and i go have some fun. If he accepts i simply continue with the plan of sending open borders and just exploring.
