Have i graduated from more than just a supposed wolverine with rabies? Or is it BECAUSE of that?
One day i hope to get the community to ignore my first... 5 Pb's or so. Im still trying to shake the gamespy lobby feeling i have when i play. Those were some dark times, getting Commodore'd by every Mali player. Axe rushes... twas scary.

Demos are not going to be posted for the remainder of this pitboss unless they show something amazing. Posting this one to show that AT ( confirmed by power graph ) passed us in power. He also has construction...
Promoted one Keshik to sentry and its going to go scout out Krill. Saving gold while research building IW. Going to try and hold the culture border war with AT and expand a city on the fur to the south, build a force of keshiks/other crap and burn that city of AT's and replant on the hill. Followed by a filler city south of Saturn.
Anything you want to add Chumchu? Anything im missing

Played this turn and krill popped in while i was playing and bulbed Christianity. That city to the north of our keshik has that as a garrison. Time to play the next turn!

50 food behind leader, and IM the person in 2nd? What in the fuck. Mr.Cairo, want to tag team someone? Im nervous about Krill and his 7 HA's + glorious land so far.
Speaking of land, here is comparison so far. Going to map out as much as possible and then bitch some more. So dont worry dear lurkers, ill warm it up first

Mine for comparison.
What Ruff should have gotten:
![[Image: 7kFebwh.jpg]](https://i.imgur.com/7kFebwh.jpg)
Rice/cow/ivory city on a river. Copper/floodplains city with clams in 2nd ring. Rice/GRASS-Oasis city on a hill, with rivers on either side. Looks like he could have gotten some cities to the west that AT settled? I see gold, so that is a rare metal.

Cant really comment on Mr.Cairo yet as i havent found his capital. I see alot of desert and plains, so maybe he had as much luck as me? He did land Hanging gardens on this shit hole, so maybe his other cities are good?
Krill's cities are nicely named City1,2,3 ect so it will be alot easier to see what order he actually settled these in. Not really liking the grass oasis 4 tiles from his capital, but ill lay off on all my comments till i see this map.
Talk me off a ledge.

I'll bite.
Why did you settle venus on the silver? with the fish first ring, you could have worked silver/furs. once you had a lighthouse, you could work, silver, 2x furs.
East of your capital looks pretty green. With that deer and furs, you could be working at least 2 cottages, if not have a 6 food-surplus with farms on both riverside grassland tiles. Also, you could have founded on the spices to share the sheep with your cap and get the copper. I'm not saying that your land is particularly good, but I think your border was adjusted by rushing Ruff. Sites that you could have gotten from AT and even Krill went to them because you were focused on taking it from Ruff.
That said, try to keep your head up and focus on your objectives, instead of how you're getting screwed. that's what I'm telling myself in life, in general.
Good luck!

Settling for first ring fish worth not getting the crab/copper ever? ( besides planting on the copper, building a fort... something really not worth it. )
Notice where the iron is. Roughly, this should be 1 per player, with it being closest/practically guaranteed for whomever its meant to be for. That iron of Krill's is blocked by what HAS to be a hand-built mountain range. The iron to the north is where Ruff had a very clear/easy 2nd city. 1SW of the iron to be exact. Mine was stuck in the tundra by the crap/copper/silver shit. Not complaining about where mine is, but i just wanted to more easily show that there werent really any other city sites i could have gotten. Except where Mr.Cairo's A Tree Falls city is at. Maybe could have gotten that one? But it would have been wedged between a likely Ruff city, Krill city, and Mr.Cairo city...... so.
I do agree that there are some green tiles to the east of my capital, that could be cottages. A bit of an oversight that might have squeezed out another tech by now. However, i think i was right in assuming i would have been squeezed for land had i not choked/killed Ruff. Id have gotten as far north as my copper city and had a couple more iceball/low quality cities to my south. I...cant see why id found the copper city on the spices though. Adds another peak tile, and the green tile it adds is basically Krill territory.
Ill try to keep a straight face as i push forward in this game, but i dont think Commodore balanced these starts all that well. At least, from what ive seen thus far.

Good point on the fish settling. I think founding on the copper and building the fort would be a better move, even if it is annoying. But that's picking nits, because you explained well the dilemma you had.
Your iron was in a tough spot, too. The fishing village you could put to work that and the deer, while moving Uranus 1 NW for a lame PH sheep and GL horse. That's rough.
But I think you made a good choice in rushing Ruff. I can see why that would be frustrating, though, feeling like you only have one move to make.

Hard to want to waste such a good tile as ice-copper. At least it will be "some" production down there eventually..
Yeah, always sucks having One-Right-Move to do. Really sucks even more because i will grow more and more of a reputation as some rusher. Which, frankly... i don't believe i am. At least not like, on purpose

For being only 2 cities behind.. That crop yield makes me sad.
Construction- build defensive cat stack. Build keshiks/cats, burn and replace that shitty northern AT city, possibly try and capture that island city to the west. ... Hmm that looks like a road on the tile West of the silver on that island. Land worker, finish a road on the forested hill NE of that road? Land 3-4 keshiks and blitz the city?
Pretty sure this game is between Krill, who will very shortly kill GKC and then maybe come after me? And AT who, besides taking some of Ruff's land to the west.. must have some god-tier land to be this far ahead. I think Krill wins this game tbh mainly because GKC's land other than his capital is a kick in the pants. ( and krill wont lose that much considering that he has cats )
