RPB3 SPOILERS Bismarck of India (regoarrarr, darrelljs, sooooo, sunrise089)

Well thanks Ottomans, good thing you were making a settler and not Jans frown banghead

We definitely want to settle the plains hill, but can you leave the settler unmoved soooo?

The NW is tricky - I think we may only be able to settle towards Babylon, and if we do that we may need to keep more than a sentry net up that way.

[Rant]I know we have no economy, and I know we received about 10 units from our allies, and I definitely know had Krill not "lucked out" and perfectly caught our attack we'd have razed a nice enemy city, but man to I wish we had the sort of allies Krill seems to have in Carthage and England. Ruff is a good civ player, and I've found Dantski competent in Gamespy MP games (RBP2 notwithstanding), but our allies are....meh. They're busy stealing our city spots, not sending us gold, and not building units. Meanwhile we're outproducing all of our allies for units but have nowhere to send them because no one can get an attack plan together. And yes, I could propose such a plan, except half of our allies can't attack our sworn enemies due to treaties and the DANG OTTOMANS TELL ME IN GAME "WE'RE GOING TO START MAKING UNITS SOON" AFTER THEY'VE BEEN BUSY MAKING A FOUR CITY FRONT KNOWING THEIR ENEMIES WILL HAVE CUIRASSIERS IN FOUR TURNS![/Rant]

sooooo Wrote:If we want to snipe the sugar in the screenshot above, we could settle on the grass hill 1NW of the sugar. Could cause some diplomatic aggro though?

I say we do it.

We probably shouldn't piss off our most active ally. Note though that my occasional chats with Ottomans in game constituting our most active relationship is not good frown

Good news: I talked to Ruff via chat, and we both agree to warn each other of incoming stacks or units. He will also offer us any gold after he meets Portugal's demands.

Bad news: He mentioned "the light blue civ to our north." Translation: he doesn't know what civ they are. Maybe not the most commitment to this game there...

Okay, up to you guys. From Byz:

Quote:Writing to ask whether I might "borrow" any excess workers you can spare at some point in the near future... I've doubled the amount my civ has since I took over full-time playing duties for my team, but my supply is still badly lagging behind demand. I'm going to produce another batch in the future, but having to do so is stunting both my military production & infra which I need to produce more gold than the measly 85 or so I make per turn at present.

Even just a couple would be greatly appreciated; of course I understand if you can't ship any over at this time.

I said we lost some in the raid and needed to replenish. I don't know about giving Fast Workers away, especially to someone that toys off and on with the idea of joining PAT.

@Darrell - I'd only want to give them away with an ironclad guarantee they never travel outside Byz land and are returned to us regardless in X turns. For example, in the screenshot below fast workers give PAT a double-move city-split attack option they don't otherwise have.

T133 -

Shock! Our allies have offered us enough money, and we can research at 100%.

Ottomans have settled in their southeast, and it isn't the best...

Rome has also brought a settler into view in our NW, though I expect they will settle in a way that lets us make our own NW city (and take the brunt of Babylonian aggression wink ).

Otherwise a quiet turn. No visible units from Krill, and if all goes according to plan we should settle the plains hill city in a few turns.

I vote that we do give 1 fast worker as a show of goodwill. They're cheap for us to build.

Unfortunately, Clearing house hasn't been updated recently. I'm not 100% sure why, but I believe that we need to start updating it again. It is a fact that PAT are communicating very frequently and CUDDLE has recently had a very quiet period. We certainly need to start communicating again, and clearing house is IMO the best place to start.

While it's a bit of a jump from the inactivity recently, can every update clearing house with 0% slider stats, breakeven and 100% every 10 or so turns (and record which turn you're reporting from)? Also, can those who have research visibility on PAT try and keep that updated too? We have research visibility on Carthage (Gunpowder in 4) and soon we'll hopefully have visibility on Maya.

This leads back to the question of switching funders/techers. I guess it depends on if we have excess gold or not. Can we try and get everyone's economy stats for next turn (T134) so we can see if we have enough gold to switch/not switch?

Also we need to think of a long term plan so we can stay focused, whether it would be similar to the GP bulb plan or the HA strike. I'll admit the HA strike didn't go to plan quite as expected (possibly due to the time it took to assemble them all), but another attack on someone from the Maya+Mali+Babylon group will be more likely to suceed if we can prepare and launch it quickly (depending on the tech pace). The GP bulb plan suceeded in preventing us from falling too far behind PAT in tech, so maybe we can do something similar to that again to try and gain a lead on PAT.

I'll login tonight and update our numbers for the spreadsheet.

Note from the Ottomans, both are acceptable IMO.

Quote:Hi DJ

Just a couple of small things.

I see you have a spare cow. Unfortunately for us, the map maker decided not to bless us with premium steak. Could you send some Indian steak our way? In exchange, we can send you some of our spices, which I don't think you have ATM.

Also, you are the only one without Drama. It doesn't really matter when you get it, but PAT have it now so there's not much need to withhold it anymore. Shall we include it in the trade above somewhere?

Assuming I forget to log into the game again, can someone get the following data:

Beakers @ 100% science
Gold deficit @ 100% science
Beakers at break even
Gold @ 0% science

Thanks,
Darrell

Approved the trade with Ottomans for Spices + Drama for Cow.

We'll plant our new southern city in 2t...soooo, can we get some fast workers down that way to chop at the new city?

Numbers requested by our allies:

297 Beakers @ 100% science
209 Gold deficit @ 100% science
~50 Beakers at break even
36 Gold @ 0% science
