RBP3 [SPOILERS] - Zara of the Ottomans

T28 now:

Tiles are back to governor configuration. Worker mining hill, Kull fortified for now

Moved Conan S. Nothing exciting to report.

Next turn:

India got 18 points IBT jumping from last to first. They built Stonehenge this turn which is not really surprising. I think they might have grown to size 2 as well.

Haven't done anything else yet but thanks to espionage it seems that Team Nice Shot have another contact.

i'd suggest Conan goes NW for the next two turns, their is a lot of what i call first ring territory which needs scouting.

OK 1 main message and 2 follow up's from DIM.

Quote:Fearsome Foursome of A4,

apologies it's taken so long to formulate a reply. I'd say the following

1) yes to trading for writing as soon as either of us has access to alphabet. either of hunting/masonry and hunting/poly is acceptable to us. we don't mind if the trade's a little uneven in beakers so take your pick. the only thing i'd say is, if it looks like neither of will be getting alpha in the first round of trades, we would want the option to cancel the deal as we'd definitely want to research it after monarchy. deal?
2) we've met india, whose capital is 11W and 8N of yours. they chopped out stonehenge
3) india are tentatively planning on going for alphabet and want to organise a large tech-trading group. i had a long chat with regoarrarr and we both agreed to a non-committal effort to monitor how the tech trading picture is shaping up
4) we've respected your request for anonimity but it would make sense if you guys could make contact. i haven't yet told them of our close diplomatic ties & if you were to meet them directly rather than us telling them you're thinking of going for maths it might keep our relationship hidden (it sounds like we're sleeping around)
5) obviously there's a screenshot coming. we've hidden very little, including our minimap. you were open with us, we're open with you
6) given we're trading for writing, we've decided CoL wouldn't make sense as part of the 1st round of trades. our current preference is monarchy as mentioned in point 1)
7) it sounds like the aztecs are due N of your position, their capital is ~12 tiles E of india's. india told me they'd ask aztec if they had any units available to meet, so we'll see if they make good on that.

now that we know what the land between us looks like, do you guys want a negotiated settlement plan for the entire area (i.e. we tentatively plan a joint dotmap of the area between us) or how do you want to approach the settlement agreement? not referring to first-ring sites of course, we mean the land more or less equidistant to our capitals.

let us know how things are going. are you pleased with your progress so far, and is there anything we can help with? if i left anything out you expected to hear back from us on, it's not on purpose! if i missed something let me know.

Meatbalz for DIM

Quote:We switched off EPs as soon as we met india smile

Quote:and just to spam one more message - don't worry about the signs on the map - they were put up a long time ago and no longer represent our settling intentions.

And they also included their end of the screenshot deal. Images won't work for me ATM so can someone else post it?

Initial thoughts in next post.

If India are trying to organise a large trading group, we want to be a part of it both for obvious reasons and to avoid the complexity if DIM were involved and we weren't. DIM can mention us but it will be a long time before we can head to their city. It will be about T45 when we hook up the horse. Therefore, DIM should probably mention us and that we can include math. Fortunately, DIM have given us directions to them.

For that matter, we need contact ASAP so we should go 2nd city at 2W of horses and get some chariots out.

DIM is 16E and 3S of us. The marble we saw is practically in the middle in between us. I think that we should just agree on what sites belong to whom to avoid settling issues.

Did T29:

Conan moved NW onto the hill. NW again next turn.

Nothing else exciting happened. Diplomacy is much more exciting.

Need to send a message to Nice Shot. Here is an attempt.

Quote:Greetings Team Nice Shot

Conan flexed his muscles as he passed your warrior Karen. However don't feel alarmed, he does that to everyone he meets.

Seriously though, we have no desire for conflict between our civilizations, and therefore we look forward to many years of peace between our civilizations. Have you found any other civilizations in this vast world? Yours is the second we have met.

Enough Talking!

A4

P.S. Enough Talking is (going to be) our standard way to sign off. It is not a hostile action. See the attached picture.

Ideally, I don't think that Carthage will be in our tech group. However, we still should be friendly with them for now.

Of course we will have to attach our picture of Conan lol.

Hey Hey!

I'm back in action, I would have checked in sooner but internet in France was around 10 euro an hour yikes. Anyway I'm back with a civ capable computer and I'll spend the next day or so catching up with C&D and checking out the terrain that Conan has uncovered. Thanks guys for keeping this civ afloat in my absense thumbsup

I also see we've made contact with a couple of civs, what I've seen of the diplomacy seems to be going well. It seems like the consensus is to settle the horses first, I'll have a closer look at the map before letting you know my thoughts :neenernee

Oh and bad luck about Red Sonja, that's a real shame alright. I think not delaying the settler is the right move, we shouldn't need another warrior out before then anyway, although losing the scouting turns bites a little. Is there an issue with happiness if we move Kull out before whipping? If so we might need Conan to cover the proposed settling site.

Your back Sockboy! :dancing5:

Diplomacy has recently been getting complicated with DIM contacting rego.

I've been doing C&D in your absence but I'm sure I have made some mistakes somewhere(e.g. someone else is size 4 but I don't know who).

I think happiness will not be an issue. I don't think there will be a happiness issue with Kull moving out (we get at least 5 happiness, cap is size 4, and 1 unhappy from undefended).

2nd city is 2W of horses for a number of reasons (river close to cap, corn & horse) but I will let you catch up on the rest yourself.
