Military Screen:
As you can see, my army is wholly unimpressive. I don't even have construction yet! I was well aware of the total lack of army Cull was using as garrison and needed a quick decisive strike. HA's did the job just fine. Sentry ones are being moved into various spots to give me insurance. Most of the rest are being moved to various border towns.
Power Ratings:
As you can see, my army might be crud, but so is everyones. Hence my disregard for military techs currently. HA's should be useless this far into the game but i got away with it. I won't a second time. TT's surging power is because he intends to invade Jowy. Furthermore, he has struck a deal with me to purchase Horse Archers.
TT has offered me 1000 gold in exchange for 20 Horse Archers within 20 turns and also letting me settle that southern spot you saw in the earlier pictures. This deal is great for me for a number of reasons:
a) Opportunity Cost. There is very little. Three of my cities can build a HA in one turn without overflow. Marshall Mines makes them so fast that i'm dumping hammers into schwedagon paya every other turn just to prevent me losing too many. I don't even want the wonder, but i spose it could be useful for someone else so it's ok. Thing is, there's nothing else to spend hammers on other than military and when making military units the city is pulling 75 or so hammers. HA are 33hammers so i cant overflow more than 33... It has ALL buildings i can currently build already and the other two options are Angkor Wat or Chichen Itza. Chichen obsoletes soon and Angkor is just pap. At least i'd get access to theocracy without wasting time teching for it.
b) Money! I only need ~130g to stay at 100% science. This deal is more cost effective than building wealth.
c) They're rubbish! Horse Archers are not gonna cut the mustard in over 20 turns time when TT plans to use them. Jowy has catapults and Longbows already and will have pikemen ready and waiting. BUT it keeps these two fighting and stunted.
d) i'm gifting them in dribs and drabs to try and prevent anything too noticeable on the power graph. He's had 3 already and if you look at the power graph above, i think its hard to tell.
the demo's:
Don't really understand the soldiers one, when compared to the power graph? Whatever. The stats kinda speak for themselves and before you say: "Oh, but that's a temporary thing as you're in a golden age."
Well, yeah, i am BUT i have been for a significant amount of time and will continue to be. I will have had effectively 4.5 consecutive golden ages by the end of it. Over a month of the bastards.
