Agreed on the techpath.
As for Romulus I would move him northeast onto that riverside hill. I don't expect him to have a warrior 1N of that and if he has one 1E (moved out from the cap) he will have to cross the river and attack onto a hill -> great odds for us.

Hey guys, I played the turn. Hopefully I didn't upset anyone with that or worse made errors. I moved our warrior NE as outlined in my last post. I also moved the warrior of the capital out of it so that he can escort the settler which finished with the chop. The already started warrior in the cap can be finished in 1 turn if needed and also the warrior was not needed for MP so I felt that is the better move.
Apart from that... sunrises capital has gold and corn. He works both. We can move onto the gold next turn and pillage the mine if he doesn't attack out of the cap. I doubt he has several warriors in there but I haven't followed the scores or soldier points so no clue if he has already axes. We'll see, but I think being able to harass him is worth more then some exploration of land we will not be interested in for several more months

And here is what happened:
The Era of Romulus and Remus is at an end.
I think we need better units, really... if Sunrise only sends one axe to harass us, we are even more screwed then now.
So, how about moving our city up north to include the horses in the BFC?
I suggest we build/chop a worker at Nero before finishing the warrior and send one worker to our new city (Ceasar?).

Noooooo! Sunrise only adopted slavery a few turns ago, so he can't have had that axe for long... oh well, I still think moving the warrior in was the right move with the information at hand.
We might have to move the city north if Sunrise looks threatening... perhaps we could try asking about his intentions in the Public thread? If there's any chance we could keep the city on the tile 1W of the pigs (and thus preserve a precious grassland), it's worth taking IMO.

Well, sorry. I expected that he has units but I should have checked more thoroughly for possible roads :/
As for the city site: I am unsure. We really need all grasslands we can get. Of course if we get wiped out those grasslands won't help. Can we realistically build a chariot and move it back to the cap before his axe will reach us though?

Settling party moving out:
I wasn't sure if we had an official plan for the worker, but the turn timer was running low so I just moved him out with the settling party (to connect pigs/horsies/whatever in the new city). Set Nero to build a worker because the game demanded me to set a build--I think worker next is still the best idea though. If we do go with another worker, we should probably whip Nero.

Moved the settling party, but moved the worker 1S onto the hill to chop the forest. That will speed up our new worker a lot. Guess we need a third worker afterwards to chop all those forests, connect our cities and get ready for city 3.
Let's settle our second city on the original sign and hope Sunrise is kept busy to the east.

About that...

Uhhhh, we might have to reevaluate things... IDK, but the norther spot is looking better and better.
Serdoa, what do you think?

I don't think he will really send many forces, but 1 axe is right now all he needs. So north is probably the better spot for now. I would expect if he only send something after he killed our warrior that he needs at least another ... 10 turns? If so, can we have a chariot till then?
Btw: I think our start should have been reason to regenerate the map. Starts surrounded by tundra were named as reason but I feel being surrounded by jungle isn't much difference. Not that it changes anything now to go on with discussions about how shitty this start is.

Ok, north it is then.
Didn't end turn since I'm (again) not sure about our techpath.
Wheel is in, so Pottery next still sounds like the best choice. Maybe Archery - HBR is becoming an option as well.
Anyways, don't have enough time and can't think straight enough to decide and end turn, so that's up to you, guys.
