Ok, so Krill has 3-promo Cuirassiers on the scene, which sucks. He's offered peace out of game between PAT and India/HRE/Ottomans, but if we hit his units this turn he gets to hit ours next turn.
Egypt's turn for T140 went like this:
*Cuirassier kills Musket
*WC kills Knight
*Pike kills HA
Now this turn I can probably kill: Longbow, 2x pike, and 2x WC, but at the cost of...1 knight and 2 cats. That's a good exchange, but the next turn Krill will probably kill three more Indian units (knight, 2x mace). I'm not certain big-picture if it's better to trade hammers like this...we can make more and have more than him, but then our large army is our only advantage.
Well with no one online to discuss things with, I say to heck with it and send in the troops. This won't be glorious...
*Knight vs WC at 90% - WIN!
*Knight vs Mace at 34% - dies
*HA vs Mace at 99.9% - WIN!
[fast workers road a forest]
*Cat vs longbow at 1.8% - dies
*Cat vs longbow at 19% - dies
*Mace vs longbow at 68% - WIN!
*Mace vs Pike at 87% - WIN!
*Mace vs WC at 97% - WIN!
GG settled in BB btw (I want the musket under construction to get two promos)
Other turn news:
We have enough gold for 90%, Chem due in 2t.
Maya built the Sankore wonder.
Inca went into Nationhood.
and we gave Krill a GG this turn

Someone power is within 30k of ours, and we don't have their charts. Can we ask CUDDLE who it is? If it's Babylon we need to be very concerned.

T141 - Chemistry due in 1t!
Krill killed one of our units - a wounded mace I thought he would kill and wasn't in position to cover (not that we CAN cover units from 3-promo Cuirassiers). He also moved another stack of Longbow+Pike+WC onto the forest hill tile outside of our borders. I know it's annoying letting him have that tile, but it isn't THAT annoying. Basically, he'll probably try to put some rifles on the tile once he has them, but all that gives him (when he adds a Sentry unit) is visibility onto a front we don't plan to attack from. And anything I put there is basically insta-killed by those Cuirassiers right now. So since we're tying to negotiate peace I didn't attack anything this turn.
We also got lucky with a forest growth - last turn those Cuirassiers could have hit the tile our Mace and the Ottoman knight is on in 1 move.
Started sending some units north, since a Babylonian knight is making sentry duty dangerous.
Important: HRE got another GArtist. I'd like it if they'd like to trade.
I also asked the Ottomans for Nationhood and their map.
Finally, sent an email to krill asking for details on the peace offer, mainly treaty vs cease fire.

I logged in and received replacable parts, nationalism and economics
I also got 2 peace treaty offers, from Krill and Cyneheard. I had to decline them because we can't really go around accepting peace treaties before we even look at what our opponents did in their turn! If we do want those treaties, we'll have to reoffer them (sorry). As it turned out, none of our units were attacked by Krill.

I believe sunrise089 organized those treaties, it should be okay to accept them.

Ok, T142.
The big news is we sign peace with Carthage, England, and it seems we've already signed a treaty with Krill. Note these are treaties, not cease fires, so we have 10 safe turns barring any army gifting. This also gives us a narrow window to help our allies if they get attacked within a turn or two.
We also trade Chem to the Ottomans for Economics and give Chem to Byzantium. I also see our research is to Rifling, so are we the designated techer? If so we REALLY need to make sure people offer us gold. 9t for the tech btw. We were also gifted Nationalism and Replaceable Parts before I logged in.
In other news, Mali got a GScientist and Notre Dame was BiaDL.
Sooooo, we'd like to get our third ring at Studio 54 ASAP, so that may factor into your build/tile decisions there. Actually...the same thing is true for Clevelander as well.
In Carthage's lands, Sentry HA continues to pay dividends: not surprisingly, the turn peace is declared England's mounted stack is gone. I'd expect it to be used in the upcoming war versus whoever, which helps explain the treaties rather than cease fires.

Attached are Screenshots of the front. Mali has played for this turn but I have not moved anything. Rome has provided a huge bonus and given me a bunch of Knights (Thank you soooo much!!!). Naming Convention should be easy to get but KB = Kalin's Burgers, the name of the city under threat.
I can play basically from now until tomorrow @ 10am est (allotting time to sleep) so no need to rush. However the sooner the better for my convenience.
If you have any questions I should be checking every so often so I can get back to you shortly.

Quote:Heya,
Krill has a single War Chariot who can poach two of my workers. That's it. He broke an NAP to declare, but I'm not particularly surprised that he did, and I don't really care to make much of a big deal out of it. I haven't read through the byzantine (heh) game rules in like ever, but I believe that I can't simply run my workers out of the way before my half, non-combat units or not.
Our issues stem from some conflict over settling rights to the neutral territory to my North and his West. He apparently didn't cotton to my latest land-split offer. The war declaration is his attempt to force me to accept an arrangement more favorable to Egypt at the negotiating table.
I have sent him an ultimatum. If he offers a reasonable settling counter-proposal and leaves my workers unmolested, we'll have peace again. If he captures the workers, then it's unceasing war until one of us is eliminated. I've been tired with this game for a long while now and I'm perfectly willing to burn my civ to the ground in a good fight. Moogle would never approve, but he hasn't had a hand in Byzantium for several weeks, so it's entirely at my discretion.
He has until 5PM EST to get back to me, before I can play. Should be interesting!

BTW, the screenshots are attached to an e-mail, so you need to go to our gmail account to see them.
I am out on vacation for a week starting Monday morning, so I won't be checking our diplo stuff during that timeframe.
