It may be worth pointing out that Krill may have even taken a less favorable deal with Commodore just because the benefits were going to Commodore. Giving us near 1000g is a far more threatening proposition to Krill than giving Commodore the same amount - although stuff like this rarely seems to be considered in the current tech trading game. The concern seems to be more on what benefit it gives me.

Anyway, we'll have to look at the gpt trading in F4 and see what Krill gave up for that tech.

Thanks waterbat and welcome back aboard!!! goodjob

I didn't have time to make a full report last night when we played, as there was football to be watched!!!

Turn has rolled just now and Yuri is currently playing, so perhaps Ill log in to take a look around here shortly.

Cliff notes of last turn were that we landed 8 knights in place to take his last city on Apathy Island (New Folsom / Tiny Elvis) . We also landed 4 knights and 2 cats on Inferno Island, but there are 6 longbows in his city. So we've loaded up 3 more knights and 3 cats into boats, which will disembark this turn to attack next turn.

We realized that we had failed to start the Forbidden Palace over on the western continent, so we did that (due in 8t), and also queued up our 7 universities (also due in 8t)

Battle for Apathy Island! We have 8 knights - 4 C3, 2 C1 Flank2, 1 C2 Form and 1 C2 Shock. Defending is a C2 Pike, a CG Longbow, a GG C1CG3 Longbow and an archer.

C1 Flank2 Knight vs. Pike @ 11.1 / 26.7% - retreat, damaging the pike to 36HP goodjob
C1 Flank2 Knight vs. GG LB @ 11.8 / 26.5% - retreat again!, damaging the LB to 68HP
C3 knight vs. CG1 LB @ 67.1% - died, LB to 40HP
C2 Form knight vs. GG LB @ 70.2 - died

At this point we have 4 attackers left, and 4 defenders still left. All of these attacks should be in the 90s but still.... I had Pindicator start lighting his incense

C2 Shock knight vs. GG LB @ 95.7% - Lysander has died in combat!!
95HP C3 knight vs. CG archer @ 96.5% - win!
92HP C3 knight vs. wounded pike @ 99.4% - win!
82HP C3 knight vs. wounded LB @ 99.5% - win and....

Over on Inferno Island, the troops that unloaded last turn just chilled while we loaded up 6 more units. Of course the 2 cats took the opportunity to bombard

There are 7 longbows there, so it will be dicey. If he gets one more unit in there it will take the next turn

Scooter didn't take and he didn't offer a counter. I've changed our slider to 40% and ended turn. We can get DR in 2 turns if we want, but 1) we won't be ready to start building SM in 2 turns, and 2) we should wait to burn through our gold until after the wave of universities finish.

Looks like Tatan has been reading our signs wink

Nah, I'm sure Azza also had a sign there.

So speaking of settling islands, I noticed we have plenty of time to move our galley north and grab the one-tile island west of Pat, if we want.

I would do this only if we find a city that can produce another settler by turn 210 - like just about any of our cities.

You guys are really getting a lot out of Stonhenge, huh?

He can't. It's a coincidence with Azza's signs unless there is a major bug.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

oh, ever since PB7 I lump Tatan and Nakor in as the same person. Was thinking - how does Nakor get access to Azza's signs???

Also having deja vu that i typed that first sentence before.
