We still have open borders with Apolyton, time to scope out their stacks.

This also fits with that the rival average in power is just around 400k, and that fits poorly with the two rival worst teams being at 250k, and then having three teams at 600k+ power - the average would likely be higher.
An upgrade from chariot to knight = 200g, shows +6 power... I hope they're upgrading knights, that would mean they're planning an offensive!

CivFr has been confirmed as the current rival best in power via the APTmod graph. I think the Germans didn't finish a unit in Westheim this turn, so it'll be a catapult and the quechua (or whatever the quechua is upgraded to).
I think Apolyton has run a counterespionage mission against us - the tech stealing costs increased markedly this turn.
Possible techs this turn for CFC and Univers, and maybe Apolyton (if they picked up a cheap one - they are still eg lacking the Aesthetics line).

Or maybe the target tech for the mission cost displayed in F9 changed?
I have to run.

That's also a possibility - hadn't thought of that. But they are still up Banking on us, and that's cheaper than Gunpowder. And we know they have several spies.

Tech situation T162:
Apolyton is down to 0g, no new techs. CivPlayers went from 386 to 253g, so they're running some deficit (they aren't running gpt to Apolyton). CFC went +422g (105->427), and CivFr over +400g as well (95g->605g).
Only new tech as that Univers picked up Engineering.

kjn, just a quick request for the Google Docs spreadsheet. When the Germans get eliminated this turn or next turn, can you move all their info off to the right-hand side of the spreadsheets and gray them out or something? And adjust the formulas so that they no longer get factored in? There's a lot of useful data there, and it would be a shame to see it all get deleted into the void like what happened with the Spanish team earlier. I might use that data later if I write up a review of this game later on. Thanks.

IIRC, I just hid most of the Spanish columns. I will look into how to make this best, but I'm traveling right now, and won't have Civ access for two weeks.

What is WPC's espionage situation? Do they have Alphabet? Would they need to have teched Alphabet in order to run a spy mission "against" us if we gifted them a spy? I'm thinking that we should groom them to be our religious civic swap insurance policy. If we have to help them tech Alphabet (could pacify them for their lack of gains in the war, perhaps) after we get to rifles, perhaps it's worth a look. Then they run the espionage slider and steal techs from us. I'd encourage them to go toward Nationhood so they can swap us back there if needed.
I have no idea if the costs involved would make any of this viable for WPC.
