Or with Sullla and Speaker?
Since Speaker started this thread with most of the game conditions set, there isn't too much that we need to discuss, though I believe that we are still awaiting the "official" rules Speaker mentioned.
Did the simultaneous turn vs sequential turn issue get adequately resolved?
Any other discussions necessary for the whole group to decide?

Glad to have you Scooter
If anyone else wants to ded-lurk for our team, would welcome the help!

I wasn't sure if Ilios wanted to a team member or a ded-lurker from his post. Though I admit that the difference is mostly semantic!

My team looks to be
Civ #1: Me
Civ #2: ???
Civ #3: ???
I'm probably not going to get to be on Spulla's team, for if nothing else the fact I have too many wild ideas on civ/leader picks for my team and they'd be like "No that's dumb".

Color me interested.
Not fond of Medieval, but it's not a deal-breaker like Quick.
Rules.
Why not just nerf/disable elephants somehow? Taking a happiness resource off the map seems like the worst possible solution.
Wonders. If one continental or civ-wide wonder that grants buildings is banned, they all should be.
Banning corps, nukes, Zeus, Mausoleum, and Byzantium. Fine. Can we ban India too?
Airship ban. Lot of mods require an additional tech to build them. Railroad or something. The real problem is visibility missions. Should be a way to shoot those down, but that's probably a big change. Less than optimal, but OK.
EPs/Spies. I've got a problem with this one.
Why ban spies and then leave the arguably more powerful mission cost screen, demographics screen and scoreboard intact. Spies tell you troop dispositions, that's it. And spies can be defended against. The other stuff tells you almost everything about a civ, including good guesses at builds and techs. I'd rather just turn EPs off completely. And I really like the NoScore mod used at a couple other civ sites. Everyone has 1 point for the entire game, and the demographics screen doesn't exist. Which gets rid of more spying than banning spies does.
If there is going to be a mod, can we mod out the tech trading flag in alphabet too. If we can't trade anyway, no reason to have tech visibility on the other guy.

We've played games here with the noscore mod before (PBEM4 for one, PBEM2? also,) and I think everyone hates the no demographics screen. That's a pretty basic part of Civ4, IMO.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Seems wrong to have info on civs you haven't even met yet. If you got demographics at the same time you got graphs, that could be OK. And it makes it impossible to hide some information. I can outspend you on EPs to deny graphs, put my army in spots where I think you can't see it, and cover my roads in defensive spies, but I can't keep my soldier count from showing?
Nevermind the other stuff. Analysis of how many forests different players have in the BFC via life expectancy, on turn 0? Why should you be able to extract that info?
And the scoreboard itself might be ok. But combined with Civstats (or sitting ingame all day watching it change), you can get a whole lot of info you shouldn't have as well. Why should you know Player C and Player D are in a war, player D just lost a city, which Player C razed, if you haven't even met either of them.
That's more information, and earlier in the game, than what you can get with spies. Spies aren't a problem.

Spies are pretty much only a problem on neutral terrain, though having your probe teams fight would be kinda cool.

BTW - Cyneheard figured out how to flip off certain team-wide wonders in the other thread.

Sunrise has demanded that Sullla and I allow him to be our teammate, or he wouldn't host the game, so begrudgingly, we have accepted. He also insisted that we will be building the Great Lighthouse first.
So that leaves us with the following teams:
Quote:Team 1: Speaker, Sullla, Sunrise089
Team 2: Luddite, Antisocialmonkey, Lewwyn
Team 3: Warriorknight, Oledavy, Dazedroyalty, Shoot the Moon
Team 4: Kuro, Twinkletoes89, Jkaen
Tonight, after work, I will try and come up with a proposed final rule set, and some map instructions, and would love it if Plako made the map.
As an aside, if anyone wants to ded-lurk for me, I would like some company in my thread. My wife said she will bake delicious cookies and cupcakes for anyone on Team Speaker.
