Gaspar, Lewwyn, et al go full Sartre

That post was fantastic, Lewwyn. Clearly I am indeed your smurf. Pitch perfect on the Hearthstone cards as well.

My first thought was Thoth on AH. Double pre-req on AH + Creative. That might actually be higher, though, no? Oxy is the other Cre Civ but Maya is Mysticism/Mining so there's no way he's going BW first with no food techs.

Gotta be Thoth then, I think.

Gaspar as Doomsayer was awesome!

The rest of the post was awesome too.

Played t2. Went E-SE because that's what my instincts told me, I don't think it really mattered one way or the other, though.

Looks like that's a mountain pass E-NE-NE? I'm guessing this is intermediary land, because this isn't worth much pre-Calendar. Anyway, either NE-E or SE-SE next turn. I lean towards the latter, though there's definitely more coast E of that plains hill.

Borders pop @EOT. I'll update the sandbox next turn with that new info as well Calendar-land over here.

I think I favor SE-SE. It might lead to the tundra and ice and we might have a straight shot along the bottom. This was true in PBEM 18 which was a cylindrical lakes map.

All the pregame analysis was great. I particularly liked Gaspar as Doomsayer nod.

Thanks. jive

Turn 3 played and 2 slices of bad news. First re: scout, we caught a dead-end, of which I was afraid.

Options for next turn are NW-SW to head into the southern jungle or NW-NE to the banana with the hopes that the land there isn't also a peninsula (which it kinda could be.)

Here's what the border pop at the capital gave us:

Pretty obvious city location in the NW for Clam and sharing the wheat, but nothing exciting. Looks very dry up there. frown Cap is now working 4-yield Deer, as advertised.

Here's demos. New sandbox will come later today - I think we'll get a 2nd turn in so I'll wait til we see the scout reveal for that.

NE of the clam will at least let you lighthouse 3 lake tiles, so it isn't all bad. Good early production too. /glasshalffull

So we talked about scouting moves last night, I just forgot to post it. Here's a sample:

Gaspar
do you want to argue for 2.5 hours about the scout move for old-times sake?
Lewwyn
so I think scout should go into space
like take a rocket you know?
Gaspar
hmm
Lewwyn
I think we might win if we do that
Gaspar
vision would be better
Lewwyn
we could fortify
and like gget a fort bonus
Gaspar
what if we sent him to the center of the planet instead?
Lewwyn
for when the barbs come
Gaspar
be really hard for the animals to find him that way
Lewwyn
he'll live longer
Gaspar
we could send him home and upgrade him to a cyborg?
Lewwyn
ooh
cyborg upgrade
6 million dollar scout

Alright so I didn't report t4 because I knew t5 would be coming so here's a composite...

Hunting completes EOT, we'll start AH next. Here's the home base:

I discussed a little bit with Lewwyn if we'd change course if Horse popped in the NW by the clam. I don't think so, though. We'd need to prioritize fishing and it would alter the worker situation too much. Also, we can get the 3rd city pretty trivially quickly after the 2nd if that was what we wanted.

And here's what's been revealed by the scout. Jungled calendar resources mostly. Blech. We'll certainly go 2SE next turn.

Time to get down to the brass tax and start to firm up the plan. Essentially the questions are Settler v 2nd worker and Mining/BW vs Pottery.

Sandbox link in second post is updated with most of the revealed territory. I got a little lazy in the area where the scout is now since there's almost no chance we're still sandboxing in an era that we'd be settling anything over there.
