T76 played, everything seems fine so far--pictures are on my dropbox here, nothing really important happened--I set research to 0% (though watching you nearly deplete your gold right before a Library completes hurts my soul
 ), and I set all the espionage to go towards Jowy (since I don't think we'll need to see Adrien's research that urgently for a while.
I heartily endorse the Disease empire
 May you have more success than I!! Why did you A) wait till the barb city was size 2 and B) raze it? Just out of curiosity.

So, it turns out that Monhegan island cottages have internet connections. I haven't tried to play a Civ4 Pitboss but I can at least help with the turns while I'm here.

I didn't realize it until I browsed your PB18 thread 50 turns into this game.The barb city was initially defended by 3 Warriors, and our Axes went down to (iirc) 4.0/5 health taking out the first two. There wasn't any need to kill the last defender before we could get 99% odds, so I didn't.

It is great, but I think it clashes a bit with my leader and heavily forested, river-woven land...my cities are probably among the healthiest in the world so far. The glory remains to be earned.
Turns out the internet here is good enough to play Pitboss with, so I should be able to set aside enough time for playing my turn every day. Thanks again for subbing CH  Report for T77 to come soon.

Barb troubles ahead:  If this Spearman moves in closer, I'll retreat the Settler and fortify the Warrior on the hill; between the forest hill, 5% fortify bonus and Combat 1 he'll have a +90% bonus, which may let him defend succesfully. Even if not, the Spearman and Archer already on the way can clean up after him.  We can finally grow to Size 6 thanks to the Furs hookup, and eventually to Size 7 when the whip anger wears off. I did a little tile micro here, switching from the Wheat to the hill mine to maximise production while still growing in 1T, since we don't need to be Size 7 until whip anger subsides. Next turn the Settler will resume.  Thanks to the capital's Wheat, Cholera can 3-turn this Worker while it waits for whip anger to wear off. After this I may build another Work Boat to scout to our east, maybe find one of the other continents. |
