Judging from CivStats, it looks like scooter a) declined our trade and b) declared on Nakor, taking 2 cities

While Pindicator has been off gallivanting at home, Scooter took our trade after we threw in one of our 4 dyes.
He is now on Constitution (80). Which should work out nicely for us as we can potentially trade for that with Scientific Method?
He may be annoyed when Nakor takes our trade for Chemistry / RP, given that they are now apparently in a hot war but oh well. We offered it before they were at war, though he has no real way to know that.
So we'll have to figure out what this means for us as far as these western islands. I did start sending a settler / missionary /knight westward on a galleon. I do agree that it would be nice to get a native stone source if we're going to take a shot at Kremlin.

Good trades! This war of scooter's may just be perfect timing in helping encourage Nakor to take our deal :D

Nakor indeed took our deal, raising our MFG numbers by 41. Krill has not yet logged in, but we shall see on that count.
Commodore has about 1100 gold as well, so I think assuming we're working something out with Krill that we should also offer it to Comm. If Krill doesn't take our deal then I don't want to give it to Commodore yet since he might then trade it to Krill behind our backs.

I also queued up Hermitage in Toonces to fight Krill's culture there, unless you think it should go elsewhere.
For tracking purposes on T219, Krill has 563 EP on us this turn. I think he's spending fairly heavily against us - he may want to be able to see our research, either for tech trading purposes or possibly also to check our progress on SciMeth / Communism.

Krill did not take our trade nor did he counter (he may be close to Chemistry himself? Or thinks he can get it cheaper from someone else?)
He did get Economics from Scooter  and because he has the uber-trait, immediately revolted to Free Market raising his GNP up to 1404.
I was thinking this morning that we might be able to get Rifling out of Nakor. We could probably certainly get it for Nationalism + Economics, and we could probably get it for Nationalism? That seems like kind of an obvscum move though, to get a military tech from one power and immediately trade it to someone he's at war with.
Of course if Krill doesn't want Chemistry, we could always trade it to Azza...  though he doesn't have much (just 472g + 205gpt). Krill did take Azza's capital this turn.
Only question now that we need to figure out before Commodore plays tonight is whether we offer Chemistry to him for his 1100g. If we don't, then we risk one of the other guys doing so (and him possibly brokering it to Krill).

You know, Pindicator has really been pinging my scumdar lately. First that whole business with shifting the science slider off of max, and then not showing up last night for some so-called "dinner party".
And to answer your in-game question, I did a test in WB and you can workshop bare (flatland) tundra)

Hermitage - if there is a spot to build it in this game, it's Tounces. Hey - how about we research Drama and build a theatre there too 
I say trade both Nationalism & Economics to Nakor for Rifling. Why try to be stingy? If we don't trade them to him then he is going to give someone else (probably Krill) gold for the tech. And I think we want a strong Nakor to help fight off Krill & Scooter (if possible).
We should also try to trade anything that more than one person has with Commodore. Scooter probably already has an offer out to Commodore though for Economics.
