RB Pitboss #1 [SPOILERS] - Louis XIV of Byzantium

I've played the next turn. I've cranked up research to 100% in case we happen to receive cash back from Stonehenge.

mostly_harmless Wrote:I am fine with the Ruff message. Fire it off.
Slightly editted and sent.

mostly_harmless Wrote:Ruff is researching The Wheel and has his Horses already pastured.
Are you sure? How did you tell? I moused over the tile and it still requires a pasture. I don't think Ruff has a city set up there yet.

I sent this to Dreylin & Kalin

Quote:Greetings to the League of Lin!

We are pleased to make your acquaintance and look forward to future cooperation.

We have ventured through the southern tundra from the west, as directed by Broker33 who found us first. If you are exploring to your east, it may be advisable to continue east to reach us, as it will take a good twenty turns to find us to the west.

And this to ZPV:

Quote:We are very pleased to make your acquaintance!

I assume you are located to the west of dsplaisted? We are to his east.

We wish you all the best with your exploration efforts.

Workers:

Steiner: Cottage complete. Next? Road to Kobe?
Boehm: Mining copper
Höpfner: I forgot to cancel his road and move him onto the stone to start quarrying, so he completed the road 1S of CT

Future Kobe Worker: Pasture the cows, then quarry the marble, then road the marble
Future Tartar Worker: Replace either Boehm or Höpfner, who will then move to Bradbury or help connect to Kobe

You are right about Ruff's horses. Don't know what I saw there. Doh.

For the worker plans:
Do we want to chop out Pyramids at BH? We would need 20turns without chops (Stone connected). Our BH worker could start pre-chopping. BH certainly has enough tile improvements for now.
Otherwise a road to Kobe or at least to City 2 spot is fine which would mean starting another unit (axe with copper ?) and a settler at BH before going for the next wonder (or Library).

I would probably start connecting up the marble first before improving the cows, to get Marble bonus right from the start of the Oracle build. Still a few turns time to decide and see how it plays out.

It's going to take ages to road to Kobe, so maybe after Stonehenge, we build an axeman while the stone is being connected. Then, either that axeman or Siegfried can go reveal the rest of the fog around City 2.

Steiner can pre-chop, and once the copper is connected, Boehm can too. Alternatively, Boehm can help Höpfner hook up the stone.

Game on.

dsplaisted completed the Great Lighthouse, presumably in his capital, Sullla.

Steiner (the worker) has moved to the unchopped river grassland tile to prechop.

Alternatively we could chop out the Parymids at Creme of Tartar. We will have 3 workers there in a few turns.

Played the turn. Said officially hello to ZPV in game. Re arranged espionage to focus on dsplaisted, as he is a more direct neighbour than Kalin/Dreylin.

I am going to inquire with ZPV and Broker about their plans to go to Alphabet (as they have writing already) and whether they would consider tech tradings once they got it.

dsplaisted or Broker33? Right now we have all 4 EPT going towards Broker

For the lurkers:

Quote:Hey Broker,

a couple of things:
1.) We can see that there has been a stain in your history with Dreylin/Kalin. What happened there? Just a misunderstanding?
2.) Are you on your way to Alphabet? If so, we would be interested in lining up some tech trades to go through, once you have it.

Quote:Hi ZPV,
good to have met you.
We offer the hand of friendship and cooperation.
As far as scouting is concerned you will probably meet with Ruff if you continue sailing east.

We see that you have already discovered Writing. Are you on your way to Alphabet next?
If so, would you be interested on lining up tech trades to go through as soon as you got it?

And ZPV's reply:

Quote:Hi mh and Kodii,

Well met!

I'm not researching Alphabet right away - I have no intention of just being a "farmland caretaker" for my neighbours.

Aside from that, I'm happy to discuss tech arrangements. Do you have anything in mind?

Also, I think I've already met ruff, but I'm not totally sure as I don't have the game open. Do you know where krill lives?

Next turn played

I think Ruff/TAD founded their third city

Our EPs are still directed at Broker33, I'm not entirely sure if that is what you intended

Steiner has finished pre-chopping its forest

Boehm finished the copper mine, which CT is now working (worker due in 4)

BH is set to grow next turn with Stonehenge due in 2

I set research back to 0% because we have no more money and no cash back from Stonehenge (yet or if at all).

I find it a little unsettling that Ruff/TAD have yet to send us back any message. They have posted in the public players thread, thus have contact with everyone.

We can now see brokers demographs, so I switched to shadyforce. I want to focus on our neighbours first in terms of demographs.

Dreylin/Kalin mow also have writing, so they will get our standard "Alphabet" message.

As I understood the public posting rule like Krill, I actually went into thethread and read TAD's post. It just apologized for being slow, with Ruff on vacation and him not having much time. So I don't think it means they met everyone (especially as one of their scouting warriors is tied up watching Kobe. I think TAD just mixed up the threads.

I will send a message to TAD & Ruff asking for an reply.

Assuming we get the Stonehenge, what next in BH? Pyramids? And moving two workers up from the south for chopping duty?
