I suspect you haven't played much gamespy games or you might consider them as FPS games wink. There are quite a few of these characters around.

So just a sampling bias on my part? Not surprising - still made me double-take (and then giggle a bit) when I saw it smile

I got confirmation from Nakor/Gaspar and we've a NAP now.

I think I'll move the Moai City now later in the settling order and prioritize settling towards Warlord. Positioning of the copper obvivously can change this. 1st would be a city close by in the SE. The order between 2nd and 3rd depends a lot where Warlord settles. I've added also couple of the most probable locations. If he goes for very aggressive spot W2, we probably should try to to do somethong about is as soon as possible. W1 would be alright to us and would allow us good settling options and we could probably delay settling after the city in the west.

We had a discussion in PM so for the lurkers' sake, here are some details.

Current plan is to setting C1. We will mine the plains hill 1SW and speed along a chop for a fishing net.

As for our next city, I'm wanting 1S of c3_1. We can flip the wheat back and forth as well as a second mined plains hill.

Game mechanics question: Can you build a lighthouse at C1?

I believe THawk's write up for the select your own start OCC talks about that.

Or we can just wait for him to manifest himself.

I think you need 2 water tile adjacency.

Well since he brought it up, what were your plans re fishing/GL and how has WarlordDR's effusive diplomacy changed things?

No. C1 is only connected to freshwater (note the 2/0/2 default tiles). A city must be connected to saltwater in order to get a lighthouse.

Well my vision for our C1 city is for it to be a central military production center located centrally in our empire slightly closer to Warlord. Since we can't rely on anything but the LiPing doctrine for NAP, we're going to have to probably keep out front city over there fairly well garrisoned. Our third city should go by the gold unless there's something way better up north.

There's also talk of having our warrior look out for Warlord's settler and trying to jump it with 2 warriors. We could also just declare war and make an impassible wall of warriors to impede him. :\ Only really want to keep him from pink dotting.

I doubt we can get any wonders unless its something that no one wants.. TGW would be pretty amusing for 200% GG emergence.

Yeah. Wonders are low in our priority order. If golden opportunity comes we'll take it, but we've no plans for the moment. After 1st expansion phase, meaning 5-6 cities, is over we might be able to take a planned shot at something useful.

It seems that pretty much all of the cities are production heavy because of all the hills. It might be that some of those natural production sites are used as commerce ones.

1S of the c3_1 is also ok spot. It all depends where Warlord goes with his 1st settler. I suspect he could have one at the earliest in ~10T. At that point he probably lacks both Agriculture+AH so he probably settles just to claim copper so the city might go totally other direction. Of course there is also minor chance that he is researching AH instead of BW.
