Ravus Sol Wrote:REPORT!
Sir, yes, Sir!
In my defense, the slow reports are a direct consequence of the slow game pace. Like I've said before, I prefer to do updates of 2-3 turns, since I can explain my thoughts better this way.
So, withour further ado:
Turns 65-66:
For the first time in a long time, we got an event in the beggining of
turn 65:
I don't value a healing salve that much, so I went for the first option, the "nothing happens" one. The dwarves have better use for the gold, namely, stockpilling it. The third option was building an alchemy lab in one of our cities. I had the needed money, but I'm guessing it requires sorcery/arcane lore, because I couldn't choose it.
Bombur keeps exploring (yes, he's still alive - hard to believe, I know). He found very good news: a wine resource near Hindenburg. I already placed a possible city spot there. Oasis + wines + sheep + lots of plains (well, it's better then desert), probably one of the best avaiable spots... 4th city will have to wait for Mining to be teched, since I want to grab copper.
Boatmurdered finished the market and it's almost ready with the worker. I'll have some turn before hunting, so I'll start building the Brewing House. When hunting comes in, I'll switch production to a hunting lodge, then a hawk, then a hunter and finally finishing the Brewing House for ale and +10% commerce (I doubt there's corn and rice in this map, unfortunately). After that, probably a settler.
Hindenburg is now at size 4, working cows pasture, sheep pasture, horse pasture and a village. It finished the market and will finish the Elder Council in 3 turns after that. Then, it'll work sheep, cows and horse + a scientist while building a settler (should take 13 turns - I really don't need to speed it too much, since there isn't that good land to expand to). When the fur camp is ready, giving +1 happy, I'll change production into a warrior to grow to size 5, working the plain village (won't change production time of the settler, but it'll add a nice amount of commerce).
Titanic have a long time until the market is ready. Then, it'll probably build a warrior or something like that (it'll take ages). A settled bear will give the needed culture. It's already size 2 and it'll grow fast to size 3. Probably before I can finish the incense plantation, unfortunately. A size 4, it'll be a nice commerce city for my current state of the empire.
Overview of the empire. This is a picture before EoT, since Hindenburg's market finished then. With Titanic market I'll be at breakeven while running 100% research. With RoK being founded in a while, there's the possibility of positive income at 100% research. It won't actually happen, because I'll probably keep expanding before that. Right now, though, growing the capital a bit + getting an academy is probably more beneficial than a faster 4th city.
Demographics:
Looking very good with the recent population growth in Titanic and Hindenburg. The incenses will shoot us further ahead on the GNP graph soon. I hope going for hunting will pay off in the long run too. The lack of food is still annoying, though.

Regarding the World Spell:
Square Leg asked me about how I plan to use the world spell. Well, first of all, I need to enable it, which will require mining. Then I'll have to get some mines up to make it at least a little worthwile. But that's obvious.
Since I decided to go with a aristofarms economy, getting some undesired hills won't be that much of a problem. Food will be more abundant with this approach. But I'll probably have to wait for Sanitation (+1f for farms) and Construction (irrigation spread) before using it.
I also have to think about the worker turns to build mines. As you can see, I don't have much workers (2 right now, 3 in a few) - that's not a weedy move, though, since the slow expansion + slow growth makes worker less of a priority. I haven't worked unimproved tile in a long time, for example. But it won't be that easy to manage both this issues.
So, in a few words, it'll take some time before I use it and it probably won't give me much benefits too...
