Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] Thoth and Mardoc Pretend Piracy Pays as Pacal of Portugal

t78/t79: So I double moved Krill t78/79. AFAIKT it makes absolutely no difference other than letting him spot my settler and my galley a turn earlier than necessary.

Krill has settled the Ivory island which isn't all that unexpected but it does make some interesting forking possibilities:

Killing the Archer with a pair of amphibious chariots is a bit iffy, but he doesn't know what I've got on the boat (if anything). Hopefully Krill will be sensible and let me settle my northern city undisturbed and I can send my troops elsewhere.

Hmmmm......actually he does know that I have at least one chariot on the boat. He'd have seen the chariot in Rose when he settled Esperanto. Now he sees an archer in Rose, no chariot and a galley.

Prolly should have offered him a map swap to help him get the point. But Krill's a bright lad and should be able to figure out the connection between the situation in the north and the south. dancing

lol

He's obviously got one galley in the water already so we're currently at naval parity.

But I do need naval superiority on this particular chunk of water. I'm going to have a lot of coastal cities on it, including both my holy cities.

I wonder if there's a UB that could help with that... mischief

Yeah. If only there was. wink

I'm getting Feudalism first as it is more immediately useful. Pro longbows are a great way to say "fuck off and go away" to a would be rusher. wink

Vassalage also gets very nicely boosted in SMEG mod. Free unit support, plus a hammer, an XP and a beaker from: Granary, Barracks, Marketplace, Library, Forge, Courthouse (I don't actually remember if Grocers give the bonus as well....I think they do but I'll have to double check).

I'll have one or two Lighthouses done in 6t so I could start to build Fatorios in Rose and eXterminate immediately if I head to Compass first. But both cities could be building me useful stuff like LBs, workers and/or settlers instead.

So Feudalsim first, then Compass.

Played t80 on the way out the door this afternoon, so I didn't get any pics.

Krill took the hint and moved his archer, so I pulled the galley back and we have peace in our time. smile

t81: Settled my 7th city of exTerminate this turn. This revealed a Krill city in an annoying spot.

Man, this mod is very commerce starved, considering only yield from tiles... My impression is that your power economy will give you some very backwater civs to chew on some turns from now.
