Also Borshe withstanding wetbandit's potential is worth noting.

This battle is such a perfect summary of what is happening on this continent for the last 150 turns.

Should wetbandit be considering bombers instead of artillery at this point?

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

I dunno, depends what he wants to do. Assuming he wants AL first either way, Infrantry + Bombers would be the best want to handle Borsche, but that's also like 85k beakers. Infantry + Artillery should be plenty enough to put a dent into Dreylin, if he wants to go down that route, and that's only 1 additional tech for 18k beakers. He'd want to start heading towards Combustion after that anyways, for Railroads + Oil for Destroyers and Transports.

Borsche is gonna have a small window where he can make something happen. Org Germany can build factories at Steam Power for like 50 hammers a pop, so when he hits AL he will be fully industrialized (levees, factories, coal, health buildings) within about 2 turns. He either does something with that huge, temporary hammer advantage, or he's done.

So as soon as I'd finished the previous turn, wetbandit sent me a note saying he was playing and I could probably take another turn soon. I replied that it was late and I'd likely not want to, but I couldn't resist....

Oh.
My.

Oh my.

I was literally whooping and pumping my fists! Then spent 10mins calming down and explaining the situation to my Wife (it was she who was responsible for introducing me to CivIV - I think the comment was "I'm not sure I like this new version, I'll stick with CivIII while you learn this and explain it to me").

The rest of the turn is far less important, but for good

edit: just noticed there was a great artist in the city too. yikes how could dreylin possibly be satisfied with a draw at this point, after so bravely fighting back from the point of certain defeat?

That sounds like 0.5 regos.

Yup, built it in the same city as the MoM, no less. Is there really any way this game doesn't end with Wetbandit winning? His lead is huuuuuge.

Borsche, the second place player, is playing 3 minute back-to-back turns... game is so ridiculously over.

I like to keep things casual shhhshhh
