Fintourist and Dtay need to start watching out, otherwise they're going to get a reputation for being good at this game.



Although I'm sure neither of them got sandwhiched at the start, but as a wise man told me once, "thems the dice rolls."

I planted my 10th city, Brayle, to capture the marble.



Also had a bit of a moment when I remembered that marble only accounts for +50% in RtR-Mod. (Is that really what we're calling it now? Smegheads or die, I say.) Then I had another moment when I remembered I was IND and hadn't factored in the +50% from that. So in the end I was right, and + =

Sadly, I am now also out of money for the first time all game. Didn't quite make it to turn 100. But with that sad fact comes the realization that I really need Currency. +22bpt at break-even just won't cut it. We're growing onto cottages, but we need probably another 30 turns before those cities really start to bring in the cash. Mass cottages means I need to look at this from a long-term perspective. So I don't think I'll be grabbing Priesthood; I think it will be straight on to Currency after this diversion for ToA. ETA: t104, if i recall correctly.

I did get a free Hindu spread into Tandem though. My second great person may just have to be for a golden age at this rate.

dtay clearly doesn't trust me, and he shouldn't. But since he's playing this ultra-defensive, I'm likely not going to attack. I'll just run my chariots around, make him play cautiously, and hopefully buy enough time to get my next two settlers out here so I can (go broke and) settle the lush lands that Barry neglected. I whipped one out of Willow Creek on t95 - I'll whip the one in the capital when I get it down to a 2-pop range. I think that's 2 turns away.

Instructions for playing the turn.

1. If you have a question don't feel bad if you need to pause and wait for me to pay. I'll be home in 5 hours.
2. Temple of Artemus start in Tyr. Workers there need to road the trees they are standing on. We should move a unit 2SW of Tyr to see if it's safe to move a worker to that tile. So move the axe or wake there first, move another unit if necessary to get the worker there, but if it takes the units or more then just have him do something else in the area.
- Finish the marble quarry at Brake

- settler in Willow Creek heading east to settle eat of Llancarfan.
- archer build in Willow Creek.
- whip settler in Madrigal only if it costs 2 pop
- harass and shadow dtay's units in the east but don't commit to an attack unless there's an obvious way to raze it. Actually I would fear a trap in that case so let's just harass and shadow and make him bring more units over before he can settle more land there
- whip the worker in Llancarfan.

Tech to be set to Alphabet, at max science possible

I think I got the replay right, but believe it or not there was news even bigger than my starting Temple of Artemis



Yep, I decided to offer Barry/whoever-he-really-is peace. (This was before he conceded in the IT thread.)

The reason I offered peace was because I need my units elsewhere. You see, dtay just won't stop pink-dotting

dtay reacted about as well as one could expect



Actually, I'm not sure how he got the drop on my chariot up north. Combat log doesn't indicate it was an amphibious attack, there are no roads surrounding where my chariot was, and we were surrounded by forests. Conclusion: there's a W2 spear out there.

I had a little trick of my own for killing dtay's chariot. Even had a little luck help me out:



Also I whipped a sword out of Llancarfan and moved up a whipped spear from Strand.



Need to think about my endgame for this war. I think razing that city is enough for now; I certainly don't have the ability to project past that, at least not without a lot of whipping. Plus my own two settlers are on their way over so I should be able to claim the area ahead of him. Then I just have to wait for the inevitable counter.

And I also forgot: ToA was reduced to 350 hammers. So I rerouted a worker and I'll have it finished at end of t100

dtay retreated his spear, so we were left to do this:



I offered him peace and 1gpt. I don't want an enemy, but i don't want him taking the locations. Pretty sure I can beat him to the area now, and I have more units in the area. But he has more everything than me, including power now



Alphabet is in and we are buiding Research everywhere! I offered Azza OB, and was able to take Currency down to 7 turns at breakeven. I'm actually really happy with that
