Hi LP, decided to come watch you in this one, too. Very surprised you haven't gotten more Confucian cities. I guess the RNG doesn't like you much this game.
I think he was able to cancel the GPT because even though you put them together in the same deal, Civ doesn't consider "Open Borders" to be part of a package deal. It's always treated separately, because it's not a turn-based agreement (it's just on/off). So that's how he did it.
Hi Grimace, nice to have you following along here too.
Hopefully the RNG is saving up its luck for our future battle results.
Hmm, I guess Open Borders is treated like Peace Treaty then. Not sure I agree with that since OB agreements can have large asymmetries in bonus commerce, but good to know anyway.
Yeah, but it's not a result of the OB agreement, it's a result of the trade routes which follow. I actually don't think it's a bad thing, so long as you keep that in mind so that you can cancel those agreements if someone does something like Haram did. Worst case is he gains one extra turn until you cancel, and it doesn't actually cost you anything (it's just a benefit for him, not a penalty to you).
Just noticed Haram got a Great Scientist in his capital this turn too - probably his first.
Met wetbandit's Work Boat with our own Work Boat near mackoti's new island. This is turning out to be quite an eventful turn!
Now we've met everyone except Donovan Zoi, retep and HAK. We know HAK is somewhere immediately to the N/S/E of Seven due to the constant warring. Retep must be not far out in the fog from us since Confucianism has spread to him - possibly west. No idea about Donovan Zoi, possibly on the opposite side of the world since we've seen no trace of him thus far.
