Yeah, I'm in agreement with this. We can keep it as originally voted or go with Ceilizaul's Proposal #1, both are fine for me.

Hey guys, to solve the inconvenience completely if nobody reasonably objects I offered to exchange civ sets with Mack. Mack was the only one who hasnt' voted for any kind of randomness in picking, so I think it is not a favor but a common courtesy not to force him playing what he doesnt want to play with. So we dont change picking mechanics drastically and nobody gets advantage from picking first/last, simply I take his 3 combos, he takes mine. I hope nobody will be unhappy with that.

Map update: I've rolled several hundred maps, and filtered a bunch thru Joey's (neener neener can't read this) balancing thingie. I'm trying to thread the needle and come up with something natural that's still balanced.
I won't give up, just letting you know why the delay. Thanks for your patience, I'll keep working on it.

Ceil, I'd suggest picking some arbitrary maximum number(<100 btw) for the number of scripts you want to roll and just choose the best out of that number.
I don't think it's worth spending so much time hoping to hit the jackpot. We all understand that the map isn't going to be perfectly balanced.

It's far from perfect, but in the "generally balanced" area have you tried using the Novice Tool's start shuffler?

+1 to that.
