My assumption is that it would be in Player order. Since I am player #2 and Player #1 does not start with Mysticism I should be top in the tie breaker for the religion.
I tried looking around Civfanatics for an explanation of what happens with simultaneous turns, but I couldn't find an definitive answer, the suggestions given were turn order, or the amount of overflow. Sorry that this isn't more help to you, but you might have better luck looking around than me.
If it's turn order, then according to your demographics check, it shouldn't matter at all what the other people do. There's only one combination of financial + starts with mysticism among your opponents, [edit]assuming they start with a 1c tile[/edit] and only get the 3c tile on turn 5, you'll both be scheduled to finish on the same turn. However, if it's determined by overflow, then you'd lose... (According to my math, but I'm not very confident in it, so you might want to double check )

Well then I like my odds at Meditation I will go for that, it is quicker anyway. Tech path is Meditation, AH ,mining, BW then if no metal archery if metal then wheel and figure it out from there.
Hmm, [I think by one beaker,] Meditation goes the exact same way Polytheism will work too, so if the tiebreaker works that way, really it's just hope that whichever one you go for wasn't picked.
Ok it is turn two and I am locked into my path. I seem to be falling behind in the post. What is everybody else talking about it has only been one turn.
I am guessing I dont have stragic resourses at my Cap except Ivory of course so I hope metal or horses are close.
Correct me if I am wrong but I think I am near the southern edge of the map based on the trees.
There are readers lurking out here in the internet darkness.
Not much to comment on so far. Thanks for explaining your reasoning with the religion path and the tie-breakers. I have essentially no MP experience, so I am not sure what to expect. Hopefully I will learn from watching how this game develops.
Well two turns in one day things are moving along quickly. I am amazed at how stressful my first decision is but I am still first in demographics so I think my plan i working.
Here is a screen shot, not much different but I know when I am reading these I like to see them.
I know it is early but looks like a second city site up by the clams hopefully one of those hills has metal. First thought is where the scout is standing but I have to get alot more map info before I start seriously thinking city placement.

This is certainly encouraging to hear though I'm certain it's not from me (or maybe it is from my mistakes). I'm looking forward to lurking this game to hopefully learn as you have.
