Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[Spoiler] darrelljs - Victoria of England (Vets)

I only had a 9% chance so didn't bother. Two interesting things however. One, the Warrior had 10% fortify bonus meaning it was probably brought back in response to my appearance. What's more interesting is they were working a river hill. I thought that odd but mouse over showed the yield as 1/2/1. I hope that extra commerce was worth tipping me off to where their Copper is smile. I'm highly curious what they have done IBT...

EDIT- Meh, guess I misquoted. That's what I get for relying on my memory of obscure movie quotes. I meant to say, "You'll be stone dead in a moment."

Okay a real post, killing two birds with one stone. I'll show what I have been up to, and I'll leave instructions for regoarrarr to follow while I'm away. The map is clearly inland sea, and I'm in the NE corner. My eastern neighbor is Katherine of Maya (Kylearan/T-Hawk), and my southern neighbor is Suleiman of Inca (sunrise089). I have an almost complete sentry net up against the Mayans:

I want to get a Bowman on red dot to complete the net, and replace the Warrior with another Bowman (and rotate the Warrior back to act as a garrison). I think the best thing about the Bowman is really, what do you kill them with? I probalby should have done some kind of choke on the Mayans but I just didn't know how banghead. regoarrarr, just keep an eye each turn on anything coming from this direction. If it is more than a scouting unit, dial me up on gchat.

I discovered the likely to be more aggressive Incans later, and my net is not even started frown:

The Bowman is I think the only Archer UU that always has odds on a Quecha (even better than the Skirmisher), so I don't fear a rush. I still need to get this net up quickly, just so I can focus on doing my thing. regoarrarr, please move the Warrior as shown to defog the optimal net location.

Babylon the Beautiful:

Only two cities, but a third is about to be settled. regoarrarr, next turn move W2 to the Fur (W1 will finish roading the tile it is on). The following turn, after start a road, and move W1 to west of the Fur and start a road. If the game goes fast and both roads complete before I'm back, get both Workers on that Corn! The Settler settles on the sign tile. There is so much goodness in the first ring, I think I'll build Granary -> Library here. Work the Oasis tile please. Also, move that Bowman by the peak tile to the SW to defog, and the Bowman 3E of Babylon generally southwest. These units will form my Incan net smile. The city of Babylon:

I will be whipping that Granary next turn, which will take me to size 2 and working the Cow and Floodplains Farm. I am currently planning to rotate into a Worker, and I don't think you'll need to make any decisions with this city while I am away. Here is Akkad:

Akkad gets the Copper next turn after I whip two pop from Babylon. After the Worker, build a Bowman.

Man we are really churning through the turns. I leave tomorrow about 9ish in the morning, so if you see I'm up in the tracker anytime after then, feel free to play it. I have some updated instructions to try and get us deeper into my vacation.

Tech path: Writing -> Mathematics -> Masonry -> Construction. I'm toying with the idea of getting Currency first, probably best not to play past Mathematics (unlikely we get that far anyway).

Here is how to move my southern Archers:

The forks are going to be terrain dependent, I want to defog the coast with the western Archer. The eastern Archer should avoid the Pigs route, I don't even know why I drew that in there. If any units from an enemy show up, just gchat me or make a forum post (don't forget to look both directions before playing the turn). My souther Warrior's path:

The tiles to the west of the peak are adjacent to the map edge and not of much interest to me right now. Domestic units:

So those two Workers finish roading next. After that farm then road the Corn. If I'm still not back, pasture then road the Sheep. If I am still not back, camp the Fur. The Bowman will finish defogging the NE map edge then head towards forming a sentry net. Babylon:

Worker after the Bowman compeltes and we hit size 3 next turn, working the Copper again. After the Worker finishes, I'm afraid you'll need to gchat me or make a forum post, because what I build next depends on what happens in game. The Worker will likely cottage grassland tiles, but it might chop first. Akkad:

Worker to Monument, then whip it. I believe the whip anger is gone right when you have hammers invested in the monument, which is perfect. If you have to wait a turn that's fine, just make sure we have no whip anger (that's coming soon enough). Let the overflow go into a Barracks which you should slow build. Since the Copper is going back to Babylon you'll need to work the Grassland forest one turn. The new Worker should mine the hill north of Babylon then mine the hills arround Akkad. Dur-Kurigalzu:

For tile selection:

Impoved Corn > Improved Sheep > Improved Fur > Oasis > Unimproved Corn = Unimproved Sheep

As soon as you can whip the Granary, do so (might not be until I can get back) overflow into a Library.
