Turn 12 complete.
Quite an eventful turn compared to the others this.
After sending the save to Kodii on Turn 11 I receive this through my email account:
Quote:Hello Pegasus!
I am pleased to make acquaintance with your fine Ottoman empire. I look forward to communication and well-being between our two nations.
We hope your warrior fares well against the jungle creatures in the vicinity!
- Kodii
And here was me thinking we were on seperate islands, maybe we are and we have been discovered via work boat
There was quite a delay on this turn in getting back to me, but I received the save through the night.
As you can see Waterfront has come from the South - so no seperate islands.
From the screenshot I have moved Cheetarah onto the Plains Hill to stay city side in case Kodii tries anything fancy and rushing for Cat's Lair (although they would still have to work out where it is I suppose). Still better safe than sorry, and hopefully it wouldnt even come to that. I can stump my growth too and get a warrior out early enough should an attack be imminent, but thats not the play I want to make.
Last turn we had an opportunity to take out a barb panther. So what happened to it? Has Waterfront dealt with it and taken away my xp's?

Nope, it suicided against Cheetarah @ 0.5% odds and caused no damage at all.
Having assessed the situation, I felt I was in a position to reply to Kodii.
Quote:Greetings Kodii,
It is always a pleasure in making aquaintance with fellow fine empires such as the Malinese and I hope during this game we hold a long and lasting friendly relationship.
First of all, please accept my sincere apologies for not replying sooner, this was not intentional. With the game going as fast as it had over the past few turns I thought I would be able to see how we met in game before responding. Unfortunately this turn has taken a little longer than expected.
I would like to congratulate you on discovering BW. I hope the land provides you with plentiful resources in your opening research quest.
Cheetarah has found adequate resources so far and has stumbled on one nasty animal that she took care of in the last interturn. How has Waterfront found the terrain / barbs so far?
Kind Regards,
Pegasus
In hindsight, I think I should have responded sooner, but work was manic this week (especially these last few days), and I seriously did believe the turn would roll back round a lot sooner than it did.
First thoughts: I have no intention of going to war early on - unless it is a quick kill I do not see any benefit whatsoever.
However, I am up against a CIV who as a CRE backing and I need to be careful I do not got myself bottlenecked into the north.
If I run out of land, war could be my only option. Lets hope this scenario does not need to arise until later in the game.
Ok onto the C&D.
First things first. As from my reply, Kodii has shot up 6 points and soldier count average and best has gone from 5500 to 7500 and 10000 to 16000
It has to be BW.
Sylon too increased by 6 points this turn. I actually notice on my spreadsheet I don't have him down for anything, so for now I am going to pencil in Fishing and Agriculture as this does not affect soldier points.
Worker is now complete and will head over to the Corn next turn and start to irrigate the turn afterwards and then move over to the furs to build a camp. Cats Lair will go onto full growth mode whilst building a warrior for safety.
Actually thinking about it, I think there is a neat little trick here. Next turn I should move the worker 1E start a road and then cancel order. I can then move them onto Corn and irrigate the corn and I actually benefit from 1 turn of road completion. Lets see if I remeber this by the time the turn comes next.
Oh...and for those of you that are actually interested. I have uploaded my C&D sheet. By the way, any of you want to use it for recording in your games, feel free to use/adapt it.
The fact that nobody has commented on it must mean it's perfect right
