I'd be willing to play in this game, though I'm a bit worried about being not enough of a noob. I've played against the AI enough to beat FFH2's Emperor difficulty a good deal of the time, but have no multiplayer experience in FFH2 and have only played maybe two Civ 4 BTS games with friends before.

I also meant to establish myself on the forum before expressing interest in a game :T. Been lurking since just before pb had crushed the Hippus and Vampires in two fell swoops. I don't think that playing a turn a day will be a problem for me activitywise.

Well, you're the first Noob to sign up, so i don't see a problem unless it's vetoed by noobier noobs. I don't mind that you're probably better than me.

Don't worry, most of us here beat FFH regularly on Immortal, look at how we fare in the PBEMs (Hint: Not well at all!).

I had expressed some interest in playing in such a game, and I am still interested in playing such a game, but I have 2 caveats:

1. I'm pretty experienced in BTS, and also relatively experienced in BTS multiplayer. How good I am at it is entirely up to the imagination, however. Still, if this is a true noob game, I don't want to be the shark in the pool that ruins it all.

2. I don't like the idea at all that a college of experienced players is completely handholding. A dedlurker who gives each player a bit of advice is good I think, but if it just ends up being Ilios vs Ichabod vs Thoth vs Whomever, we already have those games, and they're probably more interesting if they're the ones actually at the wheel.

I guess I'm sort of on the fence. I'd like to get involved in a FFH PBEM, but I've played a lot of FFH since I posted originally and I would call myself competent at this point. I wouldn't want to play a game against the really strong players on the site, because I'd get crushed, but I think I'd be just as happy to play in a relatively "normal" game where we're just keeping the skill level of the players relatively equal.

Put me down for a maybe, depending on what kind of rules/logisitics/settings we apply.

I completely agree. I don't intend to "play the game" for whomever I lurk. I can give suggestions and explain some things, but I know that I won't be the one playing.

After all, you only learn making mistakes.

I'd be interested in playing, there'll be a few days where I won't be available (e.g. I've an interview for college {mature student} May 6th, and am intending of making it a weekend visit home) but would easily handle a turn a day normally.

I'm probably emperor level in the game (don't usually play SP past king as it allows me to blast through without thinking, but all my SGs are Emperor or higher (except the r_rolo one), but I'm a complete n00b as regards any sort of multiplayer.

Oh and as I'm Irish I'm on BST.

Well, I'll sign up as a Dedlurker. I probably would go best with someone with BtS knowledge, since I still have work to do when it comes to worker management and the like, but another collaboration like mine with Tredje would be fun. I have a pretty good grasp on FFH, though, I think.

I would be interested, but the point raised by Gaspar above apply. I'm confident (finally?) in my BtS ability and have won on Deity there BUT i have not played FfH since the first PBEM started and even back then, i never won a game or played past turn 100.

Basically, im at a level where i havent a clue of how the FfH lark works *but* will probably learn fairly fast as i know my way around regular civ.

I'm a bit concerned about exams as well, but I kinda figure that by the time the map is made and the save is passed out it might already be past finals, plus the early game turns aren't exactly time intensive.

Wouldn't be able to do an early blitz for at least 2 more weeks from now for sure.
