Hey guys, I am no ded-lurker so I hope nobody will be angry with me posting here, but I wanted to say that I think you should realize that everyone of you has his talents, also in regards to civ4. So, if one is good at micromanaging, let him micromanage the cities, if one is a good strategist, let him make the war-plans. And discuss together how you want to develop your civs in a macro-perspective. Not only which tech next, but what is the overall goal in this phase of the game and what is the best way to achieve it. I think finding answers to those questions (and the questions itself) is more important then nearly every other decision you have to make as without those answers even the best micromanaging won't achieve anything. You face a strong opposition, but I honestly think that you 3 can play a good game if you actually work together, find the right one for the job at hand and help him by pointing out flaws in his plans. Well, and by realizing that you do not play 3 civs but rather 1 big civ with 3 different departments.
Feel free to ignore me, I only wanted to get that off me as I really think you can make an impact here - together.

I fully agree Serdoa, couldn't have put it better! - that's the true essence of team play and I hope we can get over this rocky start and get working on that path.

Right then.
Technology.
I assume plan here is to part bulb Civil Service.
What are peoples thoughts after that?
Do we want to aim for Musics free GA?
If not I guess its Machinery, then given the amount of cavalry we will be facing engineering for pikes and movement speed?

With Rome being somewhere out there, I think Machinery is key. Plus aggressive Maces opens up a few opportunities for Ragnar if someone settles right up next to him or something.

Machinery is a good idea, because Pikes and Engineering for Roads. I don't think going for Music is that great of an idea.

Machinery is essential IMO - got to be heading towards that and then probably engineering afterwards.

Ok, seems like we have the tech plan sorted.
I will be travellling around for 3 weeks starting friday. I should have internet with me but there is a chance I may struggle to get on from time to time. In that case I will litter the map with my plans in sign form, and ask that somebody pick up my turns after say 8 hours if I haven't played.
My password it seems was mistyped, and is in fact 'rbgame' not 'pbgame' as I originally posted.

Ok, religions have now dropped and Kuro got confusus (sp?) in his second city.
How are we planning to handle religious spread?

Unfortunately it didn't land on me so that I could revolt straight away and get best chance of some random spreads in the short term.
Are you in Organised Religion Kuro? Hopefully you are then we only need 1 turn of anarchy to get its benefits.
I think it needs spreading to me in the short term as I can get the most benefit out of it in the quickest time. If you can build a Missionary straight away (if in OR) then I'd use that as the placeholder for that city and churn it out. After that, I can work on building them when I can.
Also I have hired a Merchant in my second city to get to work on getting Civil service bulbed. It is at Size 2 and working the rice.
