Sullla Wrote:Well, I can perfectly understand the desire for good-natured back and forth during one of these games. The problem is that too much information can be given away unwittingly by these conversations, information that can affect the flow of the game. Let me give you an example.
Let's say that Thoth and WarriorKnight are fighting one another across the border. If one of them posts something in the "trash talking" thread, even something fairly innocuous like "Better luck next time!" or "Hey, leave me alone!" it gives away information to all of the other teams. Luddite could look at that and think "Hmmm, I know that these two players are fighting. Might be a good time to attack one of them." And now the playful little exchanges have affected the outcome of the game.
Again, the whole point of the Always War format is removing contact between the different teams in the game. No emails back and forth, no renaming units to send little messages to other teams, no "UN thread" where teams chat with one another. This game is Always War: Cannot Talk Or Negotiate. I love discussing this stuff as much as the next person, but please, let's save it until after the game is finished. There's too much potential to affect the gameplay otherwise.
I see your point.
However, this game has so far been incredibly dull and boring.
I'm willing to risk the occasional slippage of spoiler info if we can inject a bit of fun into the game.

Anyone who doesn't like the idea of a bit of banter and trash talking is welcome to um, not post here?

It's not.
Lighten up a bit.
We're here to have some fun playing a game. Stop taking everything so bloody seriously.
