Speaking of spamming, has anyone used Mass Effect or Star Wars as a naming theme?
I don't want to do something that's already been done!

I vaguely remember Kathlete using Star Wars in PB2. I don't remember mass effect being used before though.

Kathelete used Star Wars planets, to elaborate on Slowcheetah's post. I have no memory of a mass effect theme. TBH, pick a theme you like and then don't worry about whether or not it's been used before .

Another rules change, diplomacy is now AI-only with added trade/war clauses. I will have to ask how they work. Maybe we will have a vote on how they work. And then change to full diplo. And then back to scouts. Expect more rule changes or disputes, TT would not take my hint to compile all the rules in one final post. As frustrating as the waiting is, it might be good that we have this time to set everything up properly.

Perhaps not!
Quite happy with that. I can build a lighthouse there as well, improving the two lake tiles. We can see 8 coast/ocean tiles and three more in the fog, that's 11 tiles minimum, and it only needs to be 10 tiles large. Not much production, but we'll be whipping and chopping anyway. I named the capital Citadel.
Lurkers, how are the screenshots? Do you prefer small like this or real size? Is the border annoying? Should I crop the non-relevant part of the screenshot? Let me know! If no-one answers, I will just do it the least time consuming way.

Recall that you can use the screenshot tag instead of the img tag if you want the image to autosize if it's overly large. The border doesn't bother me at all.

"First draft":
Agriculture > AH > BW > Wheel > Pottery
Worker > Warrior > Settler (chop and whip) > Worker (chop)
Worker improves: Corn, Sheep, then chop the river forests
Continuation:
Archery > Writing
Warrior > Settler (whip)
Original worker goes to improve the second city, which is most likely north.
New worker improves the deer, chops the settler, then builds cottages
This is assuming I don't get copper or horses. Things improve if I do. After all that, more workers, library in capital after writing, and military, either axemen, chariots or archers. Get cottages up. Make sure not to get worker-starved, two is not good for three cities. Maybe get a couple from the new cities, but can't really plan anything for them without seeing the sites. Scout will probably hang around my area, first scouting for city sites, then watching out for barbs so I can get out emergency military if needed. Barbs start spawning at turn 25, in Monarch games anyway. I'll check next turn if it was really Monarch. Can't be arsed to go through the whole set-up thread looking for the information. Scratch that, I checked FOR YOU GUYS, it's on Monarch :P With the scout I'll of course pick up all the huts I can. I did have this idea that I'd prolong taking huts, only taking them after T20 so I get a chance to pop a warrior, but it gets a bit gimmicky and will suck if someone snatches the hut from me because I waited

The two forests in the fog in A's BFC both had a spice resource in them The possibility did cross my mind earlier, but it's not like I could have done anything about it. Moving on the hill still uncovered more tiles, the two that it didn't uncover just happened to have a resource in them! I prefer how things worked out though, my current capital is stronger. I can grab the spices later.
