Btw. Barracks provide now also +1 culture so just in case I need to get borders popped without religion I've no need to build Monuments.
Espionage changes
Quote:City Revolt, Counter Espionage, Destroy Production spy missions removed
Costs of all active spy missions doubled.
Discounts to spy missions due to religious effects removed (owning holy city, religion present in city)
This is significant nerf to Espionage. Makes new aggressive also little better since it has less urgent need for Couthouses. Tech stealing will rarely make sense after these changes. You pretty much need the Great Wall spy to infiltrate and get a big head start in EP accumulation after that you might have an opening to use EP slider at some point later. However known tech bonus changes will make it totally unprofitable around the time one could really start spamming EP infra. I'm happy with this. Previous game was quite a bit about Espionage to me so I'm happy to try something else.
Also some long term dreaming . Assuming I've been able to fight a war or 2 and generated couple of GGs maybe at some point I would be in a position where I've this
SoZ: no WW effect. Now +3XP, 200 hammers, no building prerequisites.
and this
West Point: 550h, +5XP. Now requires a lvl 5 unit (17XP/13XP for Charismatic).
i.e. Potential to get Commando units out of the gate...and back to the planet earth: 95% of the NTT games are already over when one could build Commando units.

Lot of more or less unknowns to me. I have only cursively followed other games running here. After Krill is out Serdoa is biggest threat. He is very strong in micro and his early game is always something to watch out. I hope he can't play his sandbox through without interference. No big weaknesses unless you count giving up too early as one . He still had significant shot in PB8, when he started to concede it. Commodore is also strong. Maybe this is the game where he finds the right balance between fighting and economic growth. My least favorite neighbour candidate by far alongside with Lewger. Especially Lewwyn tends to play his games quite aggressively.
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Well that makes them favorites to win this thing assuming Sevenspirits is actively involved.
btw. I've been checking the Espionage system changes and if the circumstances are right I might consider investing on it in the form of building Great Wall and hoping for Great Spy. Stealing can still be done with competitive price after infiltration and there are still 1 broken mission that was not removed and that I didn't find a good place to use in PB8. Maybe in this game .
Been thinking this new Aggressive bonus. Multiplicative nature means that Courthouses halves their effect. So with big or far away city without courhouse you could potentially save 3-4 gpt Courthouse decreases the effect to 1-2 gpt. Need to consider carefully when to build couthouses. They make quite a bit less sense for Aggressive leader.

Quite a bit stronger line-up tha in PB8. Ragnar is in the middle of the pack. Quite a few Aggressive leaders for a change.
Spiritual has not been changed from vanilla BtS. It is tiny bit better than there because of some of the weaker civics are now better than original ones. America's uniques are lot more useful than originals. Minuteman is rifle replacement with guerilla and woodsman promos and mall is now grocer replacement providing happiness from deer, sugar and all hits. I'd say a quite even with Ragnar of Mali in RBmod.
Plains corn? Well I guess these starts have gone through some normalization process.
1st instict is to move scout SW-NW. If there is nothing special move settler to cow tile and prepare to settle the desert tile. There are also merits staying in place. Main one GLH effort. It also has more riverside tiles and probably also hills.
