Well, true. My violence scale wasn't focused on ancient-era rush, but I'd only really worry about it from those two and maybe Nyles. Well, and if we're obviously vulnerable or overly pushy - skipping copper while settling up to a neighbor's borders, for instance - we might provoke an attack of opportunity from anyone who realizes it.
That said, in recent games I've seen some classical warfare actually work out - HAs or Cat/Sword can work given the right target. I wouldn't be shocked to see a classical attack from BGN or Molach, if the map is small enough that we're all bumping borders by then.
But yeah, after that, the key is simply to outplay our neighbors. Be the one who inspires caution, rather than the one who needs it

I don't know if he's solo'd any maps, but I know he's worked with Brick on several. And he's put the time in to create an overkill balance tool

About the naming theme, how about amazing imaginary cities like "double gem pig" "floodplain frenzy" or "riverside corn iron"

Funny idea. I worry it might get a little confusing when discussing worker plans, but more significantly: I'm pretty sure all three of your hypothetical examples are over the character limit for cities (15 IIRC). I don't see how you could shrink them much and still be as fun.

I hope you agree with my vote. If not I propose a fight to the death to solve the issue.

Darn, I was hoping for a good duel for exercise purposes, but I can't find anything in your vote to disagree with to justify it.
