by and large I don't have any problems with the settings but i do have a few concerns.
a Flat map would probably only work with 4 players unless it's going to be some ring/donut variant, IMHO it should at least be cylindrical.
I'm kinda lukewarm about a point system to be honest. Its not something i'd make a hard stance on, but I'm not all that certain if that is the best way to do it.
That said, if there's interest i think it would be better if it was two games of 4 in each if there would be interest enough ... 5+ is unwieldly both in terms of getting a good solid 1/day cycle, and specially for mapcrafting

My ideal timeslot would probably be 1:00-5:00 GMT. I'd prefer fewer players if there's enough interest for two games, but I'll do my best to play my turns in either case.

I have no opinion on a single game of six or two games of four.
I have pretty bad insomnia and so can often play the turn relatively late into local night, but my probable "reliable" turnplaying is 12-8 PM Eastern US, or 16:00-0:00 UTC.

Ok, well we got to 6 players very quickly. Let's see if we can get two more players for two games of four. That will give a much greater turn pace. Perhaps we could even both use the same map/settings to make things easier.

4 players should solve the world wrap issue. If we are having two games, there's nothing stopping one game having picks decided by points and one by an alternative method. That way people can pick what they'd prefer to play and everyone wins. Let's see if we can get up to eight players first.

Thanks El Grillo. Sorry to be awkward, is this 01:00 -> 05:00 or 13:00 -> 17:00 ?

I might be interested, if there's an 8th person to make it two four player games.

Welcome onboard, whats your preferred playing time slot?
It might make sense to split the two games by timeslots to ensure the smoothest turn pace. An option.

I'm 1800-2200 ECT for sure, which translates currently to 1700-2200 GMT (but I think we'll be losing an hour next weekend).

01:00-05:00 GMT (18:00-22:00 PT). On reflection, I foresee possible problems on Monday-Thursday if I work late, so it may be best to just shift the slot later to 03:00-07:00 GMT (20:00-00:00 PT)
