[SPOILERS] PBEM 11 Lurker Thread

True, I plan to apply the fixes that Chev suggested.

There are only two natural wonders, both of which I made undesirable, as I don't think world editor lets me place any other down.

I could use some advice on total luxuries per continent.

There is the two main continents (each containing 3 players and 3 CS).
Then two other continents (the long snaky one and then the two islands, with mini islands in the middle.)

Lurkers will get a better idea once the map is complete, which if I do not get to it today I will make a final proposal tonight. However I do worry that there may be to many luxuries.

I think the plan is to have each player continent having two luxuries all 3 players have access too.
Then have 4 luxuries split between the players (ie. each player has access to the 4 luxuries, 2 or 3 which one other player does not have). These are unique per player continent so if the game does got late bot continents have incentives to trade with each other.

Remaining luxuries are 2 per island which puts the total luxuries in the game to 18.

One other thing to note is that I did randomize where each player started. I do have half a mind to swap Rome with germany. This would put Germany, Russia, Brazil on a continent with Greec, Aztec and Rome on the other.

What do you guys think of that?

I like that idea. Put the builders together, put the warmongers together - it'd be like PBEM2, which was a pretty exciting, balanced game.

The only reason I wanted to give them direction towards CS is due to the Aztecs being in the game. If each player has knowledge of the middle They can keep pind in check. My worst case scenarios is Pind takes out two of the CS and neither player notices. 

All players have some back fill and 3 routes they can take (1 being hostile actions towards cs) and it is a dice roll to see where every one scout. 

I do agree that specific instructions are a bit much how about a tip in the general thread like "it is in all players advantage to scout there immediate area first"?

EDIT sorry this was to be a quote of Japper, however it did not work, so this pertains to the general message for players.

I will do that Chev, I really would like to see this game go late game, and the 3 early UU's should keep them all in check.

-Adjusted the starting positions, by switch germany and rome.
-Adjusted the resources changes Chev proposed
-Changed unique luxuries per Continent to 5 instead of 6, added more of each luxury
-Set continents to 4 instead of the expected 3 that a small map provides.
-Cleaned up the map a bit so that it looks more natural

Going to let this sit here until tomorrow. I can post starting picks as well.

A question
-How much uranium does each player need? Have not played many late games so I may need to up that.

I'm okay with uranium being limited. If the game ends up decided by Banzai nuking pindicator because pin couldn't get any uranium...well, that'd be funny, but let's hope it doesn't come to that. Sticking it all on the islands seems good.

As for city-states, if you have 6 left, why not split 'em up evenly? It looks like there's two island groups that divide the continents from each other - 1 big long island in one group, and a cluster of two smaller islands in the other. So I'd put 3 on the big long island, 1 on the northern island, and 2 on the southern.

Seems they all have quite a bit to chop and stuff pretty evenly distributed. I like those empty Islands. Nice map
