Im doubtful that the starts are mirrored otherwise we'd have seen far more hunting civs imo. I dont know if i will use the marble or not. Im assuming that the center tile is mirrored as it would be quite an advantage for just one person to have a 3hammer plant. With that in mind, unless i oracled like... HBR? and built the oracle as like a partial denial..? Im not feeling my start so far as the commerce to get anything decent in good time from an oracle push. With the game being on prince, ill have to adjust some of my general thoughts going into this game.
Chumchu, got any particular order for city names? I was just going to go down the planets followed by looking at stuff such as Haileys comet/moon names.

Hey, the first food resource decent enough for a potential 2nd city! Man it is desolate as hell in Mongolia land.

Looks like a good site for a commerce city long term and the oasis is very sweet short term. However it is a long way away for a first city. I count 3,5 turns for the settler to move to the tile 1 north of the scout =(.

Lots of fun. Seems like my land quality is always in the lesser degree every-time Commodore is the mapmaker.... ( jk, somewhat.. )

Interesting Ai-diplo i must say.
But anyway, on my top image you can plainly see his very obvious 2nd city spot. Wet rice, grassland oasis, on a hill with a floodplains. Now, i want you to see what i have revealed thus far in my area. Where do i settle my 2nd city? Next to the tundra deer and farm the grasslands that i can? Do i settle 1w of the stone and go to ruff? Im really hoping i have something in the area i marked "backlines" Mindless unit spam and run on capture gold looks like this maps thing.

That city spot is 3 levels better than anything else we have seen thus far.
Looks like a rush situation to me, City plant depends mostly om where bronze is. Not settling on/by it is unacceptable.
I see commodore is kind to us as always.

Note to self, dont snipe settlers of mapmakers..
All i can hope is that the starts were randomized once the map was chosen/edited? Because otherwise it looks like some deep-seated hatred for someone...

Darkblue is our AMAZING 2nd city with a grand total ( if you farm the floodplains ) 5 fpt at size 3. Thanks plains deer and sheep!
Red is simply farm every grassland tile we can, work the deer cuz lul, and the fur to pay for that shitty city.
Marked with lightblue is where our copper will probably be.
Now, of course... if copper and like irrigated corn show up in our "backlines" ill be happy as pie. But somehow i dont think tundra spawns corn too often.

Backlines has some luxury's.. those will be useful to hook up when we are whipping like madmen. Now, how to feed those................
Ive come to the conclusion that i have either a wetdream of a 2nd city thru the little pass to my southeast ( past the Tundra Deer ), or Im just going to play this pitboss as a non-factor due to horrible land.
Maybe there is a fish down by that island to the south? Plant at the YAY TUNDRA DEER sign, and build a galley for a real 2nd city?

I would say that a neighbor with a capital 9 tiles away is a worse problem that our crappy backlines. They are mutually reinforcing though as we can never compete with Ruff if we concede the good land to him. If we somehow manage to conquer Ruff_Hi those luxuries will be very useful but there is no good early city down there. In a rush situation any city that needs a workboat or border expansions is way too slow.
"Darkblue" would have been a decent city if we were creative. "Settle here?" looks inferior to the spot one of it west as that gets more forests to chop into military and denies "Obvious 2nd city spot" to Ruff_Hi.
