Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Iamjohn, Kodii & Zeviz

Some thoughts:

1. We should agree to all NAPs and focus our attention south. Proposed borders sound good.

2. Worker near capital should build more mines. The capital is in ideal position to pump out settlers and workers.

3. Next build at capital might be Granary, followed by worker, and more settlers. Since we have many potential mines and high pop cap, I am not sure if whipping is a good idea.

I ended the turn.

We need to discuss where to settle our next city.

If you're planning on building settlers and workers with no whipping, there's not much point in building a Granary (yet).

Alright here's my proposal for settling in this area, I would probably be thinking red, then purple, and then start pushing south into former zulu area, with black and yellow to be filled when able.

Also thoughts for post-zulu land- I would probably be thinking blue maybe, then green or red. The area just isn't terribly food rich...

Your dotmap looks extremely sparse to me. I think you should aim to have cities with more overlap, then just temporarily skip over a site if you want or need to make a bolder grab for land in some directions.

A denser build has many advantages, such as working more tiles overall, being able to share good tiles as needed, helping to grow cottages for commerce cities, and not least being more defensible in war.

My problem is that I'm used to single player, where that isn't as much a good idea. When I get time I'll see if I can come up with a more scrunched city plan if Kodii or Zeviz can't.

In other news:
-We did just finish hunting, where do we want to head next? I selected meditation, but I'm not sure if we really want to do that...

-Chalk one up for the RNG- the quechua for the settler was attacked by a panther and lion and wasn't even scratched, it's nice to have one go our way. smile

If you have as much grassland as in this map then overlap is always a good idea, including in single player. It allows you to share around the cottage-development whilst you whip in the required infrastructure.

For example, in the first dotmap there's no way one city needs rice, cows, fish and plains-hill sheep, so better to fit in two cites. Aside from a second city where you want to be greedy and get two food specials, one 4f special should be ok if you've plenty of grassland to cottage.

Hey Kodii, just a warning, if the turn flips between now and later this afternoon I may not be able to play until later today.

Alrighty!

I'll try to put together a dotmap when I get the chance, but right now, I'm as bogged down as ever, and Pitboss 1 isn't helping with that :/

How are you with our initial position for our second city? Do you like the spot I have it heading to atm (red X in first dot map)? Despite the best efforts of barbs, our settler is getting close to the point of settling....
