Turn 111
Christianity founded in Chimpanzee. Spread Confucianism there with a missionary immediately afterwards. Free Christian missionary is heading for the capital for another Monastery.
Autospread of Christianity in Kudu on the same turn we founded it. Now if only we could get this kind of luck with Confucianism.
Another double whip for Confucian missionaries. That's six population sacrificed to missionaries in Duiker so far, for anyone keeping count.

Yep, will get a few next turn. Only trouble is you can't zoom out very far on this 36-tile high toroidal map and I'm not much good at stitching.

Turn 111 (continued)
Seven demanded Pig. Bit bemused by that... is it supposed to be a message of some kind, or does he just want healthiness? Refused anyway. He can pay for it if he wants it that badly.

Turn 112
Built the Hanging Gardens in Antelope.
Gained 14 bonus pop, not bad. Spent some of the extra citizens on whipping two Courthouses, two Libraries and two Settlers.
Buddhism randomly spread to Hippo this turn - I guess we have trade routes with HAK/CheaterHater, even if we haven't met them yet. Building a Buddhist missionary there now to add another Monastery to the capital.
Spread Confucianism to Kudu with a missionary.
As promised, here's the current empire overview.

Thanks! Looks like you're doing ok. Lots of chokepoints on this map...going to be interesting if wars get kicked off.
As far as Buddhism spreading...can it be spread if you have a trade route with an existing city that has it? I know the probability of spreading is based on distance from the holy city, but is it necessary to have a trade route with the holy city?

Yeah, and toroidal wrap with a low height makes it all the more interesting. Guess we'll see how the game unfolds.

Possibly someone we know has Buddhism and it's spread from them. I think all the spread requires is a trade route though - as far as I know you don't have to have actually met the person. There's a trade route symbol to the right of HAK's name in the scoreboard, so that condition is satisfied between us at least.

Uh... wtf? Seven declared war and destroyed a Chariot and Scout. No clue what that's about, unless the Pig was supposed to be some hidden message. I haven't played a no diplo game before - is there some standard representation for what different resources are supposed to convey? I think Copper for Copper is supposed to signal an alliance, that's about all I know.
If it's not about the Pig, then I'm at a loss. It can't be no scouting, because he was pretty insistent about his Galley scouting my lands - proposing OB multiple times with it sitting right on my border. All I can assume then is that it was an opportunistic dick move.
Was half tempted to send this:
But instead just requested reparations for the hammer costs of the units. If he doesn't accept, permawar is fine by me.

This is new to me, too, so I have no idea if there is a message there or not. Definitely seems like a dick move -- maybe he's just playing an aggressive game?
Do you have demographics on him to see where his power is compared to yours?
BTW, just really noticed that your capital is pop 15. That's pretty impressive for this part of the game!

How many chariots/scouts did you double-move into his territory in a clock game move?

I had a single Chariot in his territory. The Scout wasn't even in his territory, it was in Joey's, so that was definitely a dick move. The Chariot itself was not even exploring in detail, I just wanted to pass through to see what was on the other side. Exactly like I assumed he did when he spammed me with continual OB requests with his Galley right on my border a few turns previously.
I didn't even think about whether or not the Chariot had moved twice before him. I guess it did? But that's beside the point as it's a peacetime scouting move. Haram and Joey have both moved their scouting units twice inside my territory on multiple occasions. I didn't make a fuss because it's not a big deal.
