In general, I think it's easy to read him as scummy because of all the jokes and pokes (which often do come across as non-reads), and there's not really any great comfort in seeing that he stays in character when you have realized that it is quite literally all an act, anyway.
In any case, I don't exactly trust him, but I don't regret giving him more time because he is posting a lot, and that is generally helpful.
So out of the non-Ryan candidates, I think I would indeed have gone for Sunrise. That's mostly just based on a bad first impression, and nothing particularly redeeming after that. His play seems needlessly passive, as has been pointed out. I don't really understand that attitude, coming from someone who is allegedly excited to play town for the first time in ages.
Sunrise, I'm not necessarily looking for your thoughts on every single player. Just in general, open up and share what's going on inside your head, so it's easier to read you, and we can exchange ideas. It doesn't have to be so deep, but some of the best town tells in my experience come from discovering that others are having the same (poorly founded) gut feelings and intuitions as yourself.
I was wondering how Jabbz would know that Q was calling people out, if he didn't know how the votes worked. Because if you just read Q's words, without reading anything special into the colors, he wasn't exactly being aggressive. Jabbz' reply seems to cover that base too, though.
Q's thoughts seem to line up with my own on several occasions, so far. But maybe he is just parroting me.
Q, you said that you wanted to hear from Sunrise. Then he made his opening post, and then you said this:
Context told me that he was calling out people, I didn't need to know that the red for names was more than just emphasis/attention calling.

Why wasn't it important? And why exactly did you want to hear from Sunrise?

However, novice, there's no way you got this organized so fast on your own!

Personally I'd like to hear from our Sunrise.

Regardless on whether you subscribe to it, Rowain's opinions on how to approach novice/zak are pretty well known. And even if he had missed this - I forget how frequently Azarius has played, and that stopped being big a wee while ago - it was pretty obviously a joke, and his grabbing onto it in this way feels weird, especially as it was one of the first non-joking posts.
Azarius
Zak, I had the same reaction to the Sunrise anecdote. I doubt it's important, however.
All: I am going to be pretty inactive this game in general. While I should be around enough to play, I wasn't exactly expecting it to start so fast, and particularly this weekend won't have much time to post.

I just realized all of that blended together. At the bottom of all Zakawle's stuff, and above Qg's is the ONE line I added to the conversation. Sorry about that.

This is the line Jabbz added:

I have to run.

J: That was reiterating my thought process at the time, not my current thoughts. I have no questions for you atm.
Thanks GR.
Zak, are you talking about my opening post? I can't remember but it was mainly just a vote for pressuring some information. I had the same reaction you described, that it sounded a lot like a ploy because of the way he mentioned it (which is why I never comment how disappointed I am to not draw scum, or a power role and so on, because IMO it always sounds fake - even if genuine it's only being stated as a way of trying to strengthen ones own case/cred) and expanded on it more then seemed reasonable. However, I'm aware that people have different ways of approaching the game, so I didn't want to make too much of it or ascribe too much importance to something that is approached differently by different players (like Lewwyns complaining about drawing town) and was also likely to put him on a defensive stance and might reduce contribution.

@Azarius
I attacked Jabbz. You jumped in and attacked me. 2 posts later Jabbz told us that he is hear because iof you. That's why I made the pair-question.
That you officially voted for me because I said something about a theory concerning zak-novice lynches does not change the fact that you attacked me because of Jabbz. That this was enough for you to keep your vote on me till the end, that you didn't find anything else vote-worthy makes me question your motives. That you claim (May 28th, 2014, 16:47)Azarius Wrote: Except he has pressed the issue since then.
which I would be interested to learn where and when remembers me of sunrise & spacetyrannt who both used irrational attacks on me as scum in the game you mentioned already .
Given how upset you seem about the theory -thing it is astonishing that you are not able to say me why you need an explanation.

When I place an early pressure vote it's often because I think the player in question is likely to have a reaction that will help me read him one way or the other. You voted for Sunrise, got a reaction, but then immediately dismissed it as unimportant, moving on to someone else. That's why I'm asking why you wanted to hear from him in the first place.
If you know what I mean.

I basically chose him because he hadn't posted, although I admit the reason I picked him out because my lasting memory is of him in the kill-fest game and I was curious as to how he would play. When I was reacting to his post, however, I wasn't thinking of him as someone I had voted for as there wasn't anything specific I was expecting of his reaction.

Ok, thanks for elaborating.
Novice, did you have any specific town tells on Goreripper?
If you know what I mean.
