I'm also going for the elusive 6 GA game. In any event, don't know if its the general nonchalance that's come over me or the situation on other islands, but my position isn't as great as it once was. Credit to dreylin and borsche. Perhaps I'm paranoid, but borsche has so many goddamn kanones and has had them for so long that I've felt the need to react to those.
Hopefully physics (the homeless man's bombers) plus arty gives me a compelling military advantage. Somewhat worried about dreylin trying to mess with me over seas at ott (the city with all the wonders) and morgan (the awesome moai city).

Dreylin (I'm assuming but could be Borsche) also switched over to full wealth/research to about 3700 gnp. Both of those are about to or have just obtained constitution so now they have access to rep.

So we get to this point and there's still a lot to play, seeing as how I couldn't kill Yuri fast enough or Borsche is strong or whatever. Spawned an artist this turn and have a 70%+ shot at a merchant in 3 turns for the 5-man GA.
I'm...just not into civ at all right now. Seems weird to ask for a sub seeing as this is a casual game.

Dreylin boated ott and another big island city. Good on him. not sure how he snuck a galleon or two past my scouts.
I'm glad I posted the above before something like this happened, but I'm really not interested in continuing.

Possibly need a sub for this game. You would have my gratitude and internet cookies.

Yeah, my offline/work responsibilities increased quite a bit recently, unfortunately at the same time as the responsibilities for this game increased. Any one want to sub in?

Hey wetbandit, great game! We were actually in competition for quite a few of those Wonders, but I miss-prioritised some of the Aesth/Lit ones and I didn't realise you had visibility on my Nat research, so never really had a chance of stealing the Taj. Anyway, Nationhood seemed to work out for me.
Great job leveraging your early game traits into a fantastic snowball; sitting in my ORG world, I'm not sure I realised how much the additional maintenance would be biting on you later in the game. Also, I still think I made the right decision not trying to roll right into Grimace after Whosit, since it would have given me a long maritime border with some Incan dudes ... and no-one in their right mind wants to border them...
It's unfortunate that you were being pulled away from the game at the time it was starting to hot up again, but I've been through my own self-imposed exile and so know that these things happen. Shame we didn't get to go at it further, but that's a lot of time we both now have to do other things!
One question that I can't answer by snooping around your civ; when did(?) you realise that the mini-island Stone was an outlier, and how much difference do you think it made to your builds? Reading through, I know you settled that Island relatively late and had the secondary island Stone pretty early as well, but I'm guessing it helped a bit on the Pyramids build?

I didn't realize that the stone island was an outlier until much later. I haven't gone over other threads in any detail, but I don't think I would have lost the mids. I may have even had the island stone hooked by that time. I did try and get HG which you got. Other than that, I didn't have any stone wonder I wouldn't have had hooked up from my island.

For some reason I had decided that Whosit was making a run at the 'mids, but there was nothing about it in his thread; my own effort was more failgold focused, and I didn't see anything elsewhere to suggest you had stiff competition for that one.
I'll admit to a "toys out of the pram" moment when I saw it though; you get an awesome Moai island and a Stone island, I get an awesome Moai island and ... an island without a single food resource.
Though I did finally settle a Filler there ... last turn!

Digging deep to get into the style of the thread:
Anyhoo, so thanks for letting me take a look around. I guess you'd made some moves but not everything, but this was what I'd wanted to check out:
The ships hid in Grimace's city last turn; not sure if those airships had scouted that way or just arrived. No cash for upgrades is sad. It looked like you didn't have anything in range to hit either of the landed Cossacks, and I couldn't see anything obvious in range to be added to morgan's defenses. But I guess you would have used one or both of the Airships to soften the Southern Galleon and then double-combat promoted the highlighted Galleon to kill it. Maybe the GG Galleon to the SE could have cleaned up if the rolls went badly, I guess, but you'd hope to have been able to use it for ferrying something somewhere.
The Southern Galleon had 2 10xp Cossacks, while the Northern had one on 16xp and the other on 7xp. So with just the Northern one available, I probably wouldn't have been able to take morgan this turn barring a really lucky roll against the Rifle. OTOH, having done so, I could then load up the Cossack that raised rusie and hit with 2 Cossacks again the following turn. So playing first you'd probably have wanted to:
a) reposition any available airships to cover morgan
b) converge some ships to clean up after the airships
c) see if any reinforcements could be added to morgan (and davis / terry / frisch?) next turn
d) re-jigger builds in a bunch of places and plot bloody revenge!
While I was logged in I noticed you had maybe 2/3 of your cities on Wealth and Research builds - I guessed the Research were placeholders for completed builds, but what percentage of Wealth builds do you estimate that you were running at the end? (FWIW, I was still in "infra & exciting new units" build mode and had virtually nothing on Wealth)
