[SPOILER] Asoka of the Vikings (Nakor & Gaspar)

Things are getting crazier every day. LP (our northern neighbour) wants to sign a NAP untill T160! What do you think, Gaspar? lol

Well, that certainly gives us plenty of time to get set-up. It also makes it most likely that we eventually go to war with Locke. Regardless, if we can do a good job of expanding out, then the security of the NAPs will make our external settlements safe.

I'm okay with it, I guess. We just really have to get out there quickly.

Okay, accepted the NAP with LP.

Next city will be furs/silver then? And then we move up north before backfilling?

If you think the furs site will make enough of a commerce impact soon enough that it doesn't slow our settling down in the north, sure. Personally, I think getting 2 settlers out, one to the agreed upon spot in the NE w/plako, and one in the NW on the other water body are the most important settles. The sooner we get those sites out and up and running, the sooner we can start to expand from them and make them profitable parts of the empire.

I'm really in favor of expanding until the economy completely crashes, and just laying down cottages on every possible tile to recover. It will take longer, as we're not financial, but we balance that somewhat by not paying nearly as much for maintenance.

Ok, there is a settler in Greendland soon to be finished, let's send him off to the south for more happiness. We need that to work more cottages.
Then we build 2 more settlers for the north. There is a great site past that peak with horses that gives us gems, pigs and fish... should go for there to get a cannel. We need a Galley as well, but Sailing won't take that long.

And we need more workers... sounds familiair?

Sounds good. And yes, I believe I've heard that worker refrain somewhere before. lol

Ok, Writing will be done next turn, then we'll start on sailing.
Granary's are getting to completion everywhere. I think we need to build some workers/settlers before chopping/whipping Libraries everywhere. Or should we do it the other way around?

I haven't taken the chance to look at the game in a couple of days, but generally, I'd say its a better idea to whip/chop the workers/settlers and grow while building the libraries. Given we have NAPs with all our nearest neighbors for at least 50 turns, there's 0 reason to build any military other than as MP, so we should just whip/chop settlers and workers, rebuilding on Libraries, Galleys and MP for new cities.

Whatever we make of our game will be decided in the next 40 turns or so, whether we can take advantage of our extended peace to expand well.

Good point! Let's go for that.
I think we can go settlers first since most cities have enough improved tiles to work for now (without border pops).

I took a look at your proposed city locations. Unfortunate that the arm NW of Dorestadt is a dead end, but fortunate that it lands a Pigs/Gems city. I definitely prefer the more northern location for corn city, and perhaps the wheat city on a tile I marked X rather than the location marked in game.

I also don't particularly like that city north of the mountains, but I suppose we don't have much choice. Would like to get another naval scouting unit going in the other direction sometime soon.

I'll try and get another dotmap discussion together sometime soon, though I'll be sporadically available this weekend.
