Stone! Also Pyramids landed. Not Mackoti this time smile. Pindicooter got big score jump so probably them. They seem to have got a very strong opening in this game.

Settling on top of stone is pretty tempting alternative. Main weaknesses are that Calms would be 2nd ring and I might orphan some sea food in the east. I'll see all but 2 potential tiles next turn before settling so desicion is a bit easier then.

Is it worth waiting a turn to make sure you don't orphan the seafood? Or does your micro planning need the stone a turn earlier than that?

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

I don't need stone immediately. This is 1st turn I even did know I would have one lol. It is just a pretty good tile to settle above and in this case also the most secure one i.e. hill and only approach direction would be towards my core. I probably won't wait and regret afterwards, if nescessary.

Took the sea food gamble. So far looks ok and only 1 tile to check left. Ichabod planted the ivory/gems city. I'm also building crazy amount of Barracks. Religion would be nice and possibly Granary more optimal in cities having 1st ring food, but I don't want to think these through too thoroughly. Border expansion brings a little safety and visibility too.

So another peek how useful traits Aggressive and Finanacial are at this random turn and results are a small surprise at least to me:
Aggressive - I've built 4 Barracks and I've 2 under construction (120 hammers already saved) + City maintenance reduction saves me 7-8 gold at the moment
Financial - 8 commerce/turn at the moment (btw. BtS Financial would be giving me 14 commerce)

We're up to T100 and Aggressive is still economically better than Financial.

Value of GLH is currently 10 Commerce i.e. more than the Financial trait.

Also, thank you for the brief trait analysis. How do you regard the current iteration of rb mod? Is the balance right/better than before? I value your input, particularly given how well you were able to give insights in your last play-through.

Thanks.

New contacts. Both have 10 cities i.e. 1 more than I've.

btw. Organized would save me about the same 8 gold/turn at the moment.

I've not given much thought about the balance of things and I can only give gut feelings valid for this setup. Financial has definately been nerfed enough (possibly too much since slavery nerf hits also Financial) and Agressive is now ok trait. I feel like Org is #1 trait for this setup. Lot of Lighhouses to build. Courthouses will be useful and gold saved won't shy much when compared e.g. to what Financial will provide.

Just realized that Hanging Gardens have not yet been built. Too bad I've no plan to get it and it would be small miracle, if I could get it if I now start preparing for it so not sure it is worth the hassle. I probabably would end up getting just Aqueduct in a city that doesn't need it. When I log in next time I'll consider this.

Old Tourist Galley is a bit annoying. I've a worker that could start improving that Corn next turn, but I gúess I need to play it safe and land it on forest tile and chop Barracks.
