I think this is my favorite diplo spin yet in a RBP game wink

Since I am the newly elected Secretary General my advisors felt it was a conflict of interest to remain part of the Apostolic Palace since the two bodies have conflicting agenda's. Therefore I have resigned my membership in that body.

Twinkletoes89 Wrote:Hi all,

I'm sorry guys but I don't feel it is fair if I continue to play in this game when I am not 100% committed to it.

To be honest, it is very difficult to come into a game so developed with its entrenched alliances and the such like. It has never really felt like it is 'my civ' and as such, doing turns has become more of a chore than a pleasure.

With the position my civ is in, it would be massively unfair and possibly game-breaking if I was to gift my cities away or just give up playing and get steamrolled. I want someone to come in and takeover and run things through to the end. The diplomacy is pretty much out of the way for the forseeable future and is not too great to handle for someone keen to do this game - and my civ is not involved directly in a full on conflict, so you are not thrown into the deep end!

From my time in the game, I have too much respect for the guys who have put so much effort into the game to let it be spoilt by me not being committed to the endgame.

I will continue to do the turns until a replacement is found, to prevent a further pause to the game.

A replacement has been found and hopefully this will allow the game to conclude more smoothly. I have decided to step in and help TT with the running of the Malinese Empire. I have not read a single post from any of the spoiler threads for any of the players left in PB1, so all of your top-secret secrets will still be secret.

I will put in the required effort to manage the civ each turn. I will keep the spoiler thread updated more frequently. I have offered to let TT stay on in an advisory role, which should hopefully mean more continuity in the game. I will say it again: I am not here to change up the game, just to help it get to it's conclusion, however far away that is.

Players are always welcome to send ideas or thoughts to me at silentconfusion.civ at gmail dot com. Feel free to cc TT on any communication, but if you don't at least send a copy to me I can't guarantee a timely response.

All Hail Milo De Moray great general of the Broker Empire.

A missive has been returned from the front.

It speaks of the bravery and valor of our Great General. A Horse Archer who has been with the empire for centuaries and one of the undyings. He has sacraficed himself to destroy the nuclear threat of the villianous Cartaghenian Empire that attacked us without provocation.

We declare this a great holiday to remember the bravery of our general.

The Shady empire has been eliminated.

Thanks for stepping in Alex and sticking it out to the end, and for being such a good sport and honourable player throughout.

Thank you. I'll admit when I joined I thought I might be able to play a more significant role, but I was taken aback both by the effect of nukes, and the quality of play from my opponents.

My apologies to the peanut gallery for my completely anemic updates... my priority was always turnplay above journalism, but I should have done more there.

Good luck to all the players for the rest of the game. I will watch with interest.

Rego - let me be the first to congratulate you on the successful launch of your spaceship!

You beat me to it by one turn.. (although I then completely forgot to launch until the following turn anyway... smoke)

Nice use of all those forests up north. Should have nuked them when I had the chance... lol

Very impressive recovery though especially given the nukes you received in the early stages of the nuclear age. Maybe the game mechanic isn't quite as broken as we thought after all... Those nuclear shelters seem to do quite a nice job once they're built.

What would the chances be Broker could possibly win if the game mechanic as free to use as we wish? wink

Re: regoarrarr's experience with nukes - I think he would have launched 3t+ sooner without being nuked, for what it's worth.

While the Roman navy launched a diversionary strike in the southern gulf, Roman Marines crept around the northern island peninsula and stormed the small coastal city of Arlington Heights, securing a landing site for the freshly trained Commando units that struck into the heart of the Indian territory.

Reaching India's newly relocated capital of Mason in the early hours of dawn, the commandos met token resistance from the ceremonial longbowmen of the Indian palacial guard.

While fighting continued in the south, the sun rose in the north, and the deed was done. Indian spaceship recalled.
