I spotted from Demographics that everyone still has 0 in the Exports/imports. It seems a lot like Mostly_harmless has not opened borders with anyone or that he has opened them with 1 partner where both sides benefit equally.

Well I'd really like to get some foreign and off shore trade routes running so I decided to sweeten the deal and offered also 3 gpt, if he opens borders and trades maps.

edit. Also HG landed so no need to waste time dreaming about it.

I retreated my WB and Old Tourist moved towards west. I already got contact with Ichabod so there is no need to rush there and popping borders in island city is quite far away.

I've been thinking a bit what to do next and here is a list of potential goals:
* Settle the island in the west. At this point I need at minimum 3 off shore cities to get 2 commerce trade routes everywhere. I'll probably settle my 1st city so that I could pretty much secure the whole island to me, even if the position itself would be suboptimal (near the flood plains)
* Tech Meditation, CoL and bulb Philo (and later research Nationalism). I can potentially get suitable Scientist ~15T. Not sure, if the religion is still there, but Taj is really worth pursuing. Potentially Metal Casting before going here and using Forge to get few Engineer points in to the GPP pool
* Civil Service - Again not sure about the timings. I might use the Scientist I'm getting also for Golden Age, when it would make sense to have option to convert Bureacracy at that point+PAcifism a bit later
* Tech Metal Casting + Contruction - Not sure about timings (before/after Philo?), but these would increase my happy cap by 5 (need lots of hammers though) and also give me more security. Especially Metal Casting feels very important to keep my backlines secured
* Music - I'll probably skip this race and focus on Nationalism+Taj. However if it seems like I've a good shot I could try to 1 turn it when accumulating overflow from Polytheism+Priesthood

These are all potential short term goals. In a medium term I'll probably skip Liberalism race and use Golden ages to reach Guilds and build army of Knights. It seems like I've room for a ~15 decent cities and few fillers. I need to get quite a few more to remain competitive. Timing of conquest and target need to be carefully chosen though.

Paid 3 gpt to Old tourist for OB and Incense to mh. It did a pretty significant boost to GNP. I'm still dropping behind in other major demographics categories like Crop yield and MFG and I can already see that I can't really compete with the land I've access to. Especially when there are still quite a bit of land unclaimed in the jungle areas.

SoZ and GLib were also built.

i've no idea what tech I could use next. I need to fill up the last bits of the land I've access to so can't really build much Forges so MC is not that appealing. Construction could be useful, but I'm not in a hurry to raise my happy cap or build cats. Great Scientist is coming in 12T. I could collect gold up to that point and then build an academy or alternatively bulb Philo. I guess I'll keep collecting gold for now.

My Crop yield amd land area are alarmingly low, but can't help it much with my current land. Had to hope that the ones leading there are soon running out of land.

e.g. This is what I'm up against. At least they're very centrally located so it is quite likely they'll soon face some opposition
